Springfield, ILThe Barack Obama Whitewash is in full swing and US Attorney, Patrick Fitzgerald is currently in the Tank for the President-elect. My sources in Chicago claim Fitzgerald is now looking out for Obamas interests. The deal has already been made.
Now Fitzgerald has made quite a mess and before its all over whistleblowers within his own office may spill the beans. The only way out is for a real sweetheart deal where Governor Rod Blagojevich, shuts up, resigns and escapes prison. No hearings, no trials and no risk of exposing Obama or his minions to sunshine.
The lawyers for Tony Rezko are also in on this deal making thats not about cooperating with testimony but silence.
Defense lawyer Ed Genson already knows that Fitzgerald does not want the information Blagojevich can provide about major corruption that extends straight to Obama and several members of his team. The goal is to discredit and silence Blagojevich while getting him out of the way.
Illinois cannot impeach anyone without affording them Due Process under our Fifth Amendment. That means Blagojevich has the absolute right to subpoena witnesses, the right to confront and cross-examine accusers.
Blagojevich also has the right to all related e-mails; phone records reports prior to any hearing. Despite posturing to the contrary they know that.
Nobody goes to jail and they all will live happily ever after

“Youd have to talk long and hard to convince me that The UNO isnt up to his eyeballs in this stinky mess!” - ChoobacKY
Fitzgerald [the US Attorney] said himself that Blago was “in the middle of a crime spree”.
Who told Fitzi to stop the investigation immediately and arrest him while he was “in the middle of a crime spree”? [Unheard of]
I’ll tell you: Someone (s) who didn’t want the investigation to nail the bigger fish, that’s who.
Fitzi’s reward will be that he will be the only one of the federal prosecutors (93) involved who won’t be fired the minute the Zero is inaugurated.

Rush Limbaugh Show Notes 12/09/2008:
On Todays Show...
The Chicago Way: The Obama pardon list got started early with the news that Illinois Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich has been arrested for, among other things, trying to sell the president-select’s senate seat. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)
» ABC News: FBI: Illinois Governor Sought To “Sell” Obama’s Senate Seat
» CBS2 Chicago: Details of Complaint Against Blagojevich
Pearl of Wisdom: “Remember what Chuck Schumer said two days before Scooter Libby was indicted. Quote, ‘Mr. Fitzgerald is a prosecutor’s prosecutor. He does not have a political bone in his body.’”
In his Blagojevich news conference, Patrick Fitzgerald was quick to clear Obama of wrongdoing and then commented that “We’re in the middle of a corruption crime spree and wanted to stop it.” Why did he want to stop an investigation in the middle? Could it be so it wouldn’t lead to certain people? (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)

» Politico: Did Emanuel Blow the Whistle on Blago?
» Washington Times: Grand Jury Subpoenas Issued on Rezko/Obama Land Deal
Pearl of Wisdom: “Fitzgerald let the Valerie Plame investigation keep going and going for years after he knew who the leaker was, Richard Armitage. But Fitzgerald shut down the Blago investigation in the middle of a crime spree.” ...
..Democrat corruption is nothing new, but it never matters. There’s no such thing as an ethical violation if you’re a Democrat. Only Republicans are capable of that because Republicans publicly state that they have standards. (Rush 24/7 Members: Listen Here)
Pearl of Wisdom: “What if they do a special election for Obama’s Senate seat? That means Republicans could win it, and we’ve got these special elections down pat. We’re three-for-three. They better think about this.”
“Corruption, Nationalization, Propaganda! That’s what you’re going to get from the Obama administration, but you’ll have a hard time convincing The Messiah’s followers. The press is doing everything they can to protect The Messiah, Barack Obama.
Jesus walked on water. Obama apparently walks on a cesspool and is untainted by it. President-elect Obama isn’t corrupt, no, no. He just has corrupt associates from Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright to Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
The Drive-By Media marvel at Obama’s lies and evasions on the Blago scandal over selling Obama’s Senate seat. This state is corrupt from Mayor Daley on up. This is where Obama honed his “thug” political instincts.” ~ Rush 12/10/2008 http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/today.guest.html
“Questions for Fitzgerald: Why’d you stop the investigation now, and why didn’t you tell the public about it before the election?” Rush Limbaugh 12/11/08
Not even inaugurated yet, Obamas administration could well be the most corrupt in American history

An impeachment trial in Illinois would open WAY TOO MANY cans of worms!
I’ll say ... doesn’t it almost put Blago in the driver’s seat .... LOL.
h**l no, the Tribune was afraid that their resident bami would get caught for sure if they waited any longer.
Thanks for the ping and the excellent review of Fitzy, the perfect AG’s Federal Prosecutor for the rats.
“Corruption, Nationalization, Propaganda! Thats what youre going to get from the Obama administration,”
Yes, it appears that Obama plans on nationalizing corruption by importing The Chicago Way into Washington, D.C....
That sounds about right.
Theres just something a bit off about him .. and proven again in that presser, where he totally overreached his ethical boundaries as a US Atty.
That's where it gets iffy. Was he setting bait? Did he subsequently catch someone giving a statement at odds with the facts (as in the more convoluted Libby case)? And if so, will he follow through with the same stubborn tenacity?
This case is as much about Fitz as it is about Blago and Obama.
“Farewell, old Republic. We hardly knew ya...I mean besides burning down the South and all that...at least they went out with a fight.”
we’ll probably go out with a fight this time too, for the Old Republic
This is an interesting post but many here on FR posted basically the same thing a month ago. Not because we knew the facts but because we know Fitzgerald. He is NOT going to go after his new boss. Period. If you take that simple fact (and the assumption that Obama is knee deep in Chicago corruption) and run with it you will be able to see future of this case quite clearly. It is going nowhere. Blago may or may not go down but nobody close to The One will be touched.
Hard to know how to predict any outcome with the Fitz.
