It will be massive, unprecedented, and historic. The One will summon the masses from near and far to witness an event for the ages. And there will be 5 million people there to watch it, said the Chicago Sun-Times.
In November, in the afterglow of a satisfying election victory, the Washington Post agreed that it would certainly be huge, but thought it might be more like, say 4 million. But hey, what's a million people between friendly MSM rags?
The Denver Post piped up and said that actually it could be a little more like 3 million. But that is still tons of people, right? Everybody still loves Obama even if 2 million fewer people show up for the party.
It goes even lower . . .

The empty $1000 a night rentals don’t bode well for huge crowds. Wear you long underwear, as global warming is raging.
rest assured, if only 100k showed up, camera angles would be used to put the crowed at several million..
Can we change that to UnPresidented?
The ultimately small participation in the triumphal entry of “The One” and “The Messiah” into Washington D.C. will be blamed on the economy and/or global warming.
If nominated I will not run.
If elected I will not serve.
If invited I will not go, and that’s
my final answer.
would you believe....three gay pride activists and a seeing eye dog? </max smart >
I still remember driving home after the Million Mom March (I was at the counter-rally obviously). When I heard the incredibly overblown crowd estimates I nearly ran off the road.
Can we change that to UnPresidented?
Absolutely!!! :^)
We forget those who will be on their knees when his inauguration train passes by.
My prediction is less than a million, unless the weather forecast changes to above 50 degrees F. Then it’s 1.2 million tops.
People are supposed to line the rails of his train to wave him in too. I bet it won’t materialize.
A bunch of Metro stations were scheduled to be closed for parking that day because of all the buses that were expected to part at Metro station, but only a handful of permits were requested for such parking and Metro canceled plans to limit parking at these stations. The plans for traffic management are to close all bridges leading to the District from No. Va. and funnel all that traffic through Maryland. That is going to create absolute CHAOS. Fortunately, I live about 30 miles north of the District, so I will be safely ensconced in my firearm protected home until Thursday of that week at the earliest. And, no, I will not be watching the spectacle on TV. The fawning coverage would make me too ill.
I hope it snows and is 30 below zero.
The One is coming by train? I thought he was already in town? Is it one of those "leave so I can arrive" kind of things?
Anyway, what's with the train bit anyway? I though He was supposed to arrive on a donkey with people spreading their cloaks on the ground before Him and waving olive branches and palm leaves?
My husband and I attended GW’s 2005 inauguration and it did snow and felt like 30 below. Of course I am a Southern lady with thin blood.
I read yesterday that he’s going somewhere and getting on a train and riding into town-just like Lincoln did. Crowds are expected to line the tracks. Many may be waving palm branches.
Not very Christian of me to even joke about, but how about an ice storm with temps in the low forties. Combined with one of his long speeches. (And guess who was the first president to go to his innauguration on a train?)
WRONG! (1 million)
Typical journalism.
No “countability”, and no accountability.
They push ‘a story’ like boiler rooms push ‘a stock’..
