Many of us already know how much "in the tank" Google is with Obama. Google's CEO first met Obama way back in 2000 and has since had several meetings.
It is also true that Google was caught censoring what they deemed negative content against Obama during the election.
It will also likely be true that Google will eventually censor information for the Obama administration - this is a no-brainer as they have already done so and are tightly coupled.
I am now introducing a new search engine that I personally feel is very good. Some of you may have heard of it already, it's called Gigablast (http://www.gigablast.com).
Google's success hinges on traffic and sponsored search ads (they charge 4-5$ per click). If Google's traffic was reduced even by 15-20% consistantly - it would be huge losses in profit for Google.
Do you want to stick it to George Soros and Google's CEO? Tell everyone you know to start using Gigablast.com.
If you are conservative and know Google's history, the choice is already made to use something different.
I will try it. I hate Google - evil empire.
I searched for "Gigablast" on Cuil and got 20 million hits.
Try search for pictures of Michelle in that laughable red and black dress from the convention. You won’t find them using google. There is a lot of obama washing on google.
Not Microsoft?
I just tried Cuil and like that one too .. it seems they have a more article-like format. Good for searching deep content, but for quick searches revealing just the links and short descriptions - Gigablast.
Microsoft is heavy in the take for Obama too. Yahoo is as well.
GE is major Liberal and owns MSNBC.
Ping for SA...
I think the poster was referring to the “Black Widow” dress.
Google does not charge $4 to $5 per click. I advertise on Adwords, and it is a tiered system. It costs me, on average, less than $300 per month depending on the number of clicks I receive, based on how I decide to tier my ads. If I want more traffic, I must pay more. At the tier I applied for, the average click rate is $.02-$.05 per click.
When we, as conservatives, distort the facts, its harms us, as we always receive the bad media attention for the slightest of errors. There is no reason to post such an urban legend-sounding piece that has obviously not been fact checked.
Yes, Google may me a liberal mouthpiece, but I don’t have a problem with them. Capitalism is Capitalism, and its good for everyone. God bless the almighty dollar and Google’s stock.
I just looked at both. I'll be checking them out and recommending to friends if they are as claimed out here.
Thanks for this thread.
Needs to have a Firefox addon....
Yeah, and if you looks at all the “New Party” websites that have Obama’s address tied to it ... they all have a Black and Red theme to the site.
Someone could probably make the add-on.
Firefox is hugely Liberal too! Netscape is very liberal.
Try Opera - that browser is very fast, secure and has very good navigation features.
Crickeys! That is exactly a black widow symbol.
Jeepers, that’s scary. For three reasons:
1) Who were the image people who scr*wed that one up? That’s really bad staffing.
2) Michelle has enough of an image problem that matching her up with a Black Widow deadly spider image is too reinforcing of her bad reputation as a really mean person.
3)”Black Widow” is not what you want people to think about a President’s wife. Not that I would want any harm to befall the President. I dislike his politics tremendously, but nobody should be presenting images that imply assassination.
Yikes!
So that's what happened!
I did searches on CUIL and it seemed to bring up UK sites. Is CUIL British?
I can’t believe FReepers never noticed this before. When Mickey was on stage at that event, that was the FIRST thing I noticed. Some posh designer put her up there as a black widow. Until now I just assumed that everyone saw what I saw. I’ve got to become more vocal about this kind of thing from now on. Perhaps my own radio show is in order. Nevertheless, its good to see this juxtaposition posted here.
Microsoft never even dreamed of being the evil which Google has become...
Wrong dress.
Can someone tell me what are some good, conservative-leaning companies who make computer technology? I’m using an Apple now- purchased it back in August BEFORE I found out they were against Proposition 8. I don’t like Microsoft either because of the Gates Foundation (more empty-headed “humanitarianism.”)
What are some good tech companies that keep politics out of business?
How is firefox liberal?
A total line of BS, urban myth. Google may have political leanings, but don’t count on them killing their market value by compromising their core product - reliable, relevant and complete search results.
As for your $4-$5 per click number, that’s also total hogwash. I buy 10’s of thousands of clicks each year and get a great many for 10 cents per.
Just under two months in here and you’re spreading unsourced nonsensical vanities. Please spend at least 5 minutes researching if you’re going to spread conspiracy theories.
Pigeon-Toed Black Widow
It’s not nonsense.
*sponsored* ads are 4-5$ per click.
Google has censored info for the Obama administration.
Google’s CEO has met several times with Obama.
George Soros son is on Google’s staff.
Google was over-hyped to begin with — Gigablast and several others are just as good.
Most people don’t even access the results past the first couple pages, so the other 400 pages are useless.
I sure struck a nerve with you, but all that I say is 100% true.
They’re all similar. Open directory etc., they all use a similar directory format.
In fact, Google started with Yahoo’s search engine.
If you do a search on both Yahoo and Google, the results are nearly identical, search for search. It doesn’t matter much what you search on either.
Interesting.. A google search lists 10 pages of entries.
Some are...
Google has censored info for the Obama administration.
Source that shows that Google itself has done this, please.
Googles CEO has met several times with Obama.
So?
George Soros son is on Googles staff.
No one by the last name of Soros is a VP or higher at Google.
Google was over-hyped to begin with Gigablast and several others are just as good.
Subjective... and wrong.
Most people dont even access the results past the first couple pages, so the other 400 pages are useless.
Depends on what you're looking for. I've had to go deep several times, and I'm thankful for it.
I sure struck a nerve with you, but all that I say is 100% true. Possibly 50% true, but most likely 25%.
Calling BS.
Nope, this is true.
If you have a sponsored ad that comes up the first page of Google, it is 4-5$ per click for most topics.
I know this for a fact, as I used to have them on Google.
Of course, the price goes down as your ad appears lower in the list, or on subsequent pages.
No excuses, start using a different engine.
Interesting. Sounds high, but I guess someone out there will pay for positioning.
Yeahp, because positioning is really all that matters.
I tried both, on the first page and on the second. The second page got 0 clicks and the first page always got alot.
All the engines are like this.
It doesn’t matter though, i’m using something different as several others now are too.
If you’re involved with that project, submit it to Firefox for inclusion in its search bar. It doesn’t show right now.
Thanks .. but i’m not part of that project. I’m sure they’ll have one eventually.
I just have it open in a separate tab.
A few days ago I put my new laptop on ZoneAlarm and suddenly could not get connected to Free Republic...I tried and tried and then discovered that by changing to ZoneAlarm I had also switched my default search engine to Google. When I switched to MSN Live Search, I could get FR again, as you can see.......
http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm
Cuil may nor may not be honest -- I have never been able to confirm their claim: "Cuil is an old Irish word for knowledge." Eolas is the word today. Cuil means corner, niche, couch, angle, a private place (Dwelly's Gaelic-English).
I'm using Zone Alarm and haven't changed the default search engine or start page from Google, and I've never had any problem getting FR after installing, and between various versions and various computers I've probably installed 20 times. I think something went wrong during your install or your install just happenned to coincide with one of FR's accursed outages.
You know, I have had Zone Alarm for years too, but this time I have to actually turn it off to get access to FR and I am at my wits end trying to figure it out. If I try to access FR with ZA on, I get a message that Internet Explorer is unable to access the web page. As soon as I trun off ZA Internet Explorer has immediate access.
At first I thought it was Google, so I switched my search engine back but so far the only way to get here is to turn off ZA completely. Very frustrating week it has been!
