Dan Rooney's Obama worship is coming into Perspective
http://www.wpxi.com/news/18597363/detail.html ^

“PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney is reportedly on the short list to be named the next ambassador to Ireland.

The Rooney family roots are in Newry, Northern Ireland and he visits the emerald isle frequently. Rooney was an early supporter of President Obama and campaigned for him and last week gave him the game ball from the AFC championship game.”

OK, in regard to my column titled “Dan Rooney's Obama Worship” at http://www.OurHussein.com which I wrote today – I received a response from a reader who mentioned a RUMOR floating around that Dan might be receiving an ambassadorship to Ireland.

I researched this and found a story from WPXI, a major network in Pittsburgh that came out BEFORE the Super Bowl.

That doesn’t confirm the rumor but it does lend some credence to it. In that light it makes Dan Rooney’s suck up fest all the more dreadful.

What ever happened to the old axiom about not mixing business with politics? How many businesses besides Pepsi rub their customer’s faces in partisan politics?

I know that Brian Rooney is ardently pro-life as is our South Florida Congressman Tom Rooney (R). Maybe the rest of the Steeler shareholders should give Dan an education in business etiquette.

In my estimation, the only ambassadorship to Ireland this guy deserves is to the NAG Patricia Ireland – not to be confused with Kathy Ireland.

This sounds about right.

Rooney was brown-nosing for a political job in front of millions worldwide.

Shameless.

‘In my estimation, the only ambassadorship to Ireland this guy deserves is to the NAG Patricia Ireland – not to be confused with Kathy Ireland. ‘

That said, I volunteer to be Ambassador to Kathy Ireland. I will represent you all very very well, diligently preforming whatever duties Ms Ireland requires, day and night, as long as required.

I’m all about public service you know....

Dan Rooney’s suck up fest

As far as I am concerned, Rooney's performance both before and after the Superbowl was the equivalent of telling any conservative Steelers fans to go F.. themselves, they are not wanted. Enough said.

‘I’ve heard Kathy Ireland is a Republican.’

As if that has anything what so ever to do with my willingness to be Ambassador to Kathy Ireland....(chuckle)

(I’ve heard the same)

“What did Pepsi do?”

Pepsi essentially sponsored the Obama inauguration. They changed their logo to resemble that Obama campaign logo that he seemed to have copied from Acorn.

They had it placed all over the inuguration festivities and incorporated his slogans into their ads. It was appalling.

I wanted to vomit when I saw that. I’m a Stiller fan through and through, and I loved Rooney’s old man, but until Dan Rooney is dead I’ll not be as big a Stiller supporter as I once was.

He has pulled a Ditzy Chick.

Folks before you elevate this to the NFL’s version of the Dixie Chicks, I suggest you rewatch the video of Dan Rooney accepting the Lombardi Trophy last nite. He could barely the Trophy for a few seconds; his very frail looking. His words as he spoke were not so much clear as they were oddly muddled, and as another FReeper (whose wife is a nuerologist) pointed out to me, Rooney did not blink or make eye contact w/anyone on that podium. The lack of eye movement is an indicator of dementia (along w/the speech/cadence issues).
Later, w/Pittsburgh media, Art Rooney (Dan’s son) said ‘how happy he was that is dad was still around to enjoy the moment.’. Again, to me at least, indicating failing health. If getting the Ambassadorship to Ireland (and an invite to the Inauguration) make DR happy in his waning years (or less) what does it hurt?

Meant to type ‘hold the trophy.’. He could not lift or hold the trophy is what I meant to post.

Indeed he does fhayek. I wonder if our Hussein prefered the snorting variety or whether he was slinging crack rock. Nobody ever bothered to investigate.

Dan Rooney is a rich senile old fart who should be ignored. His crap does not belong in any Sport.. Football, as well as any Sport, should stay away for politics... Every time politics mixes with Sports... Sport fans should step up and tell any blowhard to shut up.. The Steelers won with their own talant.. man, was that a GREAT Super Bowl..."Rooney, you are a fool."
