02/02/09 - Old Glory Radio is pleased to announce we are teaming with Free Republic (freerepublic.com) to begin broadcasting a weekly Internet Radio / Television show called "The Free Republic Radio Hour".

The show will debut on Friday the 13th 2009 at 6:00pm P.S.T. and continue at that time slot. The program will be hosted by Tom Freriksen.

The Radio / Television show will be produced in the Old Glory Radio (AM 1650 Eureka Ca. Studio) and broadcast live. - CLICK HERE TO BOOKMARK LIVE SHOW VIEWER PAGE -. The show will be a live one hour call-in program discussing the top national and international events of the week as posted on Free Republic. Topical guests as well as callers from the ever-so-loyal and outspoken FREEPER base will also be a part of the program. The Live Show viewer is able to be embedded onto any blog or webpage.

The live Radio / Television show will be produced in the Old Glory Radio (AM 1650 Eureka Ca.) studio and broadcast live.

The show will be a live one hour call-in program discussing the top national and international events of the week as posted on Free Republic. Topical guests as well as callers from the ever-so-loyal and outspoken FREEPER base will also be a part of the program. Personal note: your man behind the curtain pic cracked me up. I had Jim pointed out to me last Feb when he was leading the charge against Code Pink at the Rally for the Marines in Berkeley. I was a little nervous going over to introduce myself and brought my daughter over to meet him. He really is a nice guy (I wouldn’t want to cross him though). I plan on bugging him and get him to call in to the program time to time so all of you can put a voice to the shaking curtain. Great picture, I am going to steal it....Tom

The wealth of knowledge here on FR by many of the posters in specific areas is amazing. I know I have had my rear end handed to me many times after I thought I knew a subject. I truly hope the program can grow into something where we can tap into that resource that has developed here on FR over the years. It is one thing to read the posts and another to hear them in detail. Please PING individuals you all think might find this program of interest so that the word gets out and we can turn it into something that informs as well as entertains.

No good food, well we do have crab but I don’t eat sea spiders....... but....but.....the best micro brewery I have ever seen. Madd River Brewery and Down Town Brown dark ale. Two of them puts me down.

"How can you not have delicious seafood? Ok I will get into it. We used to have a fishing industry along with logging, but that is another story. Until.....out of state and hairy armed Berkeley girl do gooders decided that killing fish is murder and ran everyone out of here. We used to have giant neon crab signs with dripping neon butter lining hwy 101 but now we have processed frozen fish-like patties and Turkey-tofu Lobster now that the San Francisco crowd decided we were a "quaint" little area and decided to grace us with their presence and enlightment. You used to be able to walk into a bar, throw an axe into a wall and at the top of your voice say "the only good tree is a stump". Now if you can make it past the no smoking police, you would never make it past the metal detector. Axes are weapons of hate....and stumps are worshiped by Gaia followers as examples of how evil our logging ancesters were. Fishing? I tried to make sense of the Ca guide this year.....I gave up. You can fish ten yards past the old stump on a full moon on tuesdays with a limit of one fish caught by talking it out of the water if you drive a battery powered vehicle and take a therapy class on why you want to eat meat. But I am not bitter.

LIVE EVENT COVERAGE: The Free Republic Radio Hour will also have the capability to broadcast live event feed from video or FREEPER webcam. WHAT THIS MEANS - A local FR supported event in say Georgia, can be fed live directly into the program or as an After Action Report. Capability within the system will allow live coverage from anyone anywhere with a laptop and a web cam and brought directly into the show. Shows will be archived as well.

AFTER ACTION VIDEOS: The broadcast system can directly feed into youtube videos, so after action video of any FR supported event during the week can be incorporated directly into the show. Please email links prior to the Friday shows so they can be added to the program.....Tom

AUDIO FREEPER editorials: - again I want to say thank you to everyone for keeping the thread going and the PINGS to individual groups. I have a short time to distribute a great deal of information prior to the formal launch on the 13th. It really helps.

If you have the capability to make an MP3 audio file and have a registered FR account in good standing and would like the opportunity to have your editorial played during the program, please contact me via email oldgloryradio@gmail.com

3-4 minutes in length and on a topic political or cultural issue. Save in as high a quality as you can. They don’t have to be slickly produced, I think our fellow freepers will understand it is coming from just one of the folks here.

Make sure you include your screen name and city. For those of you that want to learn about doing this, you already have the software on your computer or download the free AUDACITY sound editing software and buy a $10 mic at any store.

If you run into friends on other threads that you think may find this new audio editorial ability of interest, please point them to this post.

Although I am hosting the program, I want to re-state....this is your program and my hopes are that there is less of me than more.
