This website was set up as a place for conservatives to meet on-line to discuss and form action plans to shape the direction of our country.
There are many excellent conservative sites, but I was looking for something that conservatives could use not just to discuss the current issues, but to plan activities that will help us bring back conservative values in our country. Many of us would volunteer our time and energy if we knew we were accomplishing some good; not just reinventing the wheel.
An on-line meeting place can help us get organized to find out what works at the local, state, and federal levels. Please share your community action experiences on the various issues that interest you on this forum, whether you were successful or not. We need feedback from those who tried to make a difference but were not successful because this will help the rest of us avoid the same mistakes and allow us to put our energies into action plans that work. If there are already some grass roots organizing taking place, please share the information in the forums.
The seed for this idea came from a discussion at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2144057/posts
FreeRepublic.com is an excellent site for discussing current articles and issues. This site will go beyond that by developing action plans. By sharing our experiences, we can examine the issues, categorize them and find out what works to get the country back to conservative ideals.
We can donate money to help fight for issue after issue, but we are not seeing a return on most of our money. Lets find out why, by communicating our successes and failures to other conservatives.
The country is headed in the wrong direction and we need to take a stand. We need to learn from the liberals and become community activists.
Obama is quickly taking us down the road to socialism. Socialism is not the answer. We need to reactivate the conservative movement.
Please check out this website.
excellent.
some of us are currently meeting along New York’s eastern border.

Please take the time to register at the link above and tell us about your group’s action plans.
As far as I’m concerned Free Republic is just such a place. Why keep re-inventing the wheel? Conservatives are weakening their effectiveness by fracturing into too many splinter groups. JMHO
One of the problems with communicating here on FR us that limited numbers of people view any given thread.
What if we had a ping list of ping list owners so that important threads could called to the attention of a wider array of people.
Or maybe just a ping list consisting of people who won’t keep resorting to comments like “forget it,” “it’s over,” “they won,” “America’s dead.”
My site has a particular purpose - to develop and execute actions plans.
Here's a few examples:
One of the issues I became very involved with at Free Republic is Terri Schindler's right to live. I found all the news here, but any action got buried in the threads. We never did any real organizing here.
I went down to Florida to be part of the protest against taking Terri's life and found it very disorganized. From where to park, where to stay, where to hold any meetings, etc. They were some very good people there and I donated money to help pay bail for those who went to jail. I even went down to the jail to help someone we just met. If there had been better organization in place maybe something could have been done.
We have to get prepared. ACORN has been in business for years. There isn't any reason that we don't have a conservative group that does something similar to Acorn — register and educate voters. The group could also get money
from the government just like Acorn. Why don't conservatives have an organization similar to Acorn — because we are not organized.
If someone wants to make a difference in education. How do they go about it in their community? Who do they contact, what groups will make a difference? By sharing your real-world experience, others can find out what works and apply it to their communities.
I want us to form action plans at the local, state and federal level. I think a site dedicated to forming and executing action plans is definitely needed.
“One of the problems with communicating here on FR us that limited numbers of people view any given thread.”
This has become a major problem. I think it is due to the success of Free Republic. So many great threads. I scan the news and want to go back to something later when I have more time and forget what it was and then it is already lost.
Excellant endeavor! IMO, this is exactly what we need.
It seems like Obama comes up with a new hair-brain scheme everyday. It's scary.
We all need to join together and be allies......

A lot of Freepers are like me. I don't go to other sites unless I see something here on FR that sounds interesting enough for me to follow a link. I don't know.......I wish you well of course, I simply think we can get too scattered.
Agreed. The last thing we need is another conservative group. We have too many already. We can’t sustain this.
It’s getting hard to keep up with them all. I get e-mails by the dozens and they all want money. I help support so many. If we could bring them all together, then we would be able to support one entity and have enough clout to bury ACORN. We need a leader who can inspire such an effort.
Once it's tested to confirm stability and ease of use, we will form an Action Plan to develop a larger audience.
In the meantime, I hope that some of Free Republic’s posters will take a lead position in the issues most important to them.
