Good For Rush!... Limbaugh Lashes Out at Conservative Jindal-Bashers (Video)
Good For Rush!
Limbaugh Lashes Out at Jindal-Bashers! "Style is not going to take this country back."
Think Progress posted the video:
LIMBAUGH: [T]he people on our side are really making a mistake if they go after Bobby Jindal on the basis of style. Because if you think people on our side Im talking to you those of you who think Jindal was horrible, you think in fact, I dont ever want to hear from you ever again. Ive spoken to him numerous times, hes brilliant. Hes the real deal. Some of us in flyover country are getting sick of the East Coast elites bashing our conservative leaders.
This morning the local talk radio hosts were even talking about this. Jindal may not have rays of sunshine shooting from his a-- but the content of his speech was exceptional... And, he didn't lie.
Some of us were very impressed with Jindal and were upset to see other conservatives pile on the popular governor.

He is right Bobby spoke to what I wanted to hear.
Good for Rush...as usual.
One thing Republicans can learn from the Libs is do not attack your own in public. You just give them ammunition to use at a later date.
Conservatives need to stick together.
I keep sayin. He was trying to reach obamabot voters. He had to speak in small words and halting tones so they could understand him. Mr. Rogers tone was the only way they could follow him. Did everyone ever listen to Barak speak?
Liberals don’t have the thought processes that conservatives have and it takes them longer to understand. He sounded like he was speaking to a third grader because he WAS! Let us not forget how well Howard Stern proved that when he did his obama man on the street interviews.......
I stand by my “Jindal was terrible” comments. That was NOT the time to “try someone out”. Like it or not, someone who looked like they could lead from the Right was needed and Jindal failed. I don’t have anything against the good Gov. I don’t even “know” him that well. But this was a disaster.
We need both.
That ship sailed after the Nixon-Kennedy debate.
I was nearly jumping out of my chair on Jindal’s speech. He is what we have been looking for for a while. Does anybody think the Establishment media attack machine was going to give him a chance?? Those racist hated the color of his skin more than what he said.
Love how the FReepers who always complain about RINOs were outraged at his style. Do we want to be a mirror of the fraud?
Pray for America
Don’t disagree entirely. It was not great. It was a pretty run of the mill rebuttal by the opposition party. We were hoping for more and expecting to see the next big thing for the GOP. He underwhelmed, but it is not something that prevents him from a strong future.
Indeed. I mean I certainly hope he recovers and it was just a bad first game, as it were. I mean even Brett Favre’s first completion was just to himself. =)
they keep listening to the crap the TV newsmedia is spewing. Until we cancel cable and sat TV enmasse - we will remain serfs.
Jindal is very good but conservatives are also making him out to be a messiah or the anti-Obama.
No matter what Obama and his running dog lackeys might say about Katrina, the people of Louisiana know that it was Obama's side of the aisle that hurt them the most.
Interesting comments by Rush and posters. Thanks. (I did not hear it)
I hate Leftwingtards and their enablers.
Well . . . if he wasn’t being “tried out” on the National stage then his performance is even more worrisome. Just because you are smart and may be fantastic as a Governor, etc. doesn’t make you a National leader. However, I am hoping it was a one night blip. =) I just think it was a bad time for a blip.
On the other hand, looking at your January entry date, aren't you a bit young to be in here criticizing your elders?
We need some bonafides from you, OK?
That was my reaction, although I only was able to see part of his presentation. Perhaps, as a radio commentator remarked today, he was "overproduced" by his media aides. This morning, when he appeared on TV for an interview, he came across better, probably because he was "being himself.".
How is this a disaster? This was one appearence. The attention span of the people he was trying to reach (not the chorus as such) are as short as a gnat.
People live and learn. I've seen Jindal several times and he has always been a clear, concise kind of guy. Not a lot of "uh's" and um's". For some conservatives this was a test for their hopes and dreams. Need for improvement when jumping from one level to another is nothing new so let's just presume that this is a lesson learned.
Jindal has plenty of time to hone his appearence but he needs to simply reduce his audience size in his mind as being a bayou town and he will come across as intelligent, informed and genuine. We've got 2010 before we even shoot for 2012 so let's keep our gunpowder dry.
Didn’t watch but did listen to Rush....so what if he didn’t hit a home run...How many times did Babe Ruth strike out. Still didn’t make him a bad baseball hitter..
Good for Rush, it was nasty last night, it was dejavu Palin attacks and it made me sick. Especially from the group on Fox
I’m confused about the January entry date. And I almost double Jindal’s age. And I am certainly in the majority, among conservatives, criticizing him.
Once again, the media is applying the Dick Button School of Critcism on something that has here to fore used the Paula Abdul School. Making something out of nothing.
Who remembers a memorable rebuttal?
I apologize. I am missing the point.
No Rush, but when "Substance" is backed by "Style," the Presentation is usually far more Inspirational.
Style and presentation count, maybe these days more than ever. Jindal needs to improve. I think he will.
We are all exceedingly subtle around here.
I wasn’t being subtle?
Can you imagine what HDTV is going to do to most of the Democrat politicians?
Hahahah! GREAT point!
Shall we jump off the cliff together as well?
Consider the criticism of Jindal "constructive." Hopefully.
As I think about it, I guess I get it. I had been a lurker here for a couple years as I am not a “poster” on the Internet. I really thought this was kind of a conservative give and take place. I apologize for being wrong but I can see I don’t belong as I like the back and forth discussion of conservative issues as “what those are” will vary from person to person. I also thought I was on solid ground about Jindal when there is no conservative out there that thought he did well. It went from “not very good” to “insane disaster” . . . and that was just the Conservatives.
Anyway . . . moving on. I leave your legal questions to the other conservative lawyers here. Good luck and take care all. Was fun while it lasted.
As far as anybody here knows you're just a Democrat, and we do have such people come through here for discussion, but more frequently for punishment ~ lord do those ol'boys like their punishment ~ and to think they used to blame that on public boarding schools in England.
I have very little reason to believe you are a Conservative. Besides, if you're double Bobby's age, you're too old to be anything but a RINO ~ we are all young, buff, well-oiled, and well-armed.
Give me a break ... Rush makes us look like a bunch of doped up, freaked out, extremist weirdos to the rest of the country.
We are not. We need to get back on message/principle and cut ourselves loose from those who only use us to perpetuate their own agendas (aka Rush and others like him).
Not what I am saying. What I am saying is don’t feed your own to the enemy. They will use every single negative word said by one Republican about another against them at some point in time. They thrive on this kind of infighting. I would venture to say they are instigating some of what is going on right now.
It is good to see Rush once again stress the importance of substance over style and come to the defense of Jindal. After all, he was the one who, years ago, coined the phrase “symbolism over substance” to describe liberals...
However, it is curious that Rush couldn’t seem to find it within himself during the last election cycle to afford the same consideration and make similarly spirited efforts on behalf of some other “real deal” conservatives, e.g. Duncan Hunter, who were equally as strong and knowledgeable as Jindal on conservative and Constitutional principles and positions.
It's been that way ever since the televised Nixon/Kennedy debates.
I understand. But I don't consider the honest critiquing of Republicans to be "infighting."
In fact, it's a good thing - especially if RINOs keep running the RNC and running the GOP into icebergs.
Good on Rush for calling off the attack dogs.
Time to start a Rebel Conservative movement with Jindal and Palin. Who cares what the DC snobocracy thinks of them. Lets elect a real American.
Pray for America, Our Troops and Govs Palin/Jindal
Let me spell it out. New people tend to be DNC plants trying to destroy Republicans from the inside. You have no history and this is the first place plants tend to go. Being thin skinned isn’t exactly a Conservative trait, so if you are a plant, see ya.
Pray for America
Rush is dead wrong on this. As a conservative, I can say that Rush is disconnected from reality.
He is intelligent and continues to be a great spokesman for conservative ideas, but WAKE UP PEOPLE!
It’s 2009! We Do, in fact, live in an age where style does count.
It’s not the only thing, but it’s important
Jindal is the man...he will do better and better. Reagan was not outstanding every time out. Try out a little patience my friend, it works wonders.
Your dead wrong on this. If we are going to give up our principles to be like the Dems then what are we? Do you really think that we are going to ever get a fair shake in the press??
Being a better phony is not going to fix anything. We need people like Jindal who will clean the snakes out of the swamp.
Pray for America
We are now in the era of style over substance. Past leaders such as Washington, Adams and Jefferson were not good speakers. By their own and other accounts. Great leaders but not speakers.
Teddy Roosevelt had a high annoying voice. A great leader by almost any accounts.
General Patton did not sound anything like George C. Scott.
This performance thing is annoying and is really driven by the left. Because it is based on one’s own perception.
People that listened to the Nixon debate on the radio said Nixon won.
Hitler was a pretty good speaker.
Leadership should be judged on ideas and results. Jindal has been a pretty good leader so far.
