There is a great list posted over at the The Power Hour for those of you who are as a precaution preping some emergency stores.
I’m a good American girl... self sufficient, independent. I’m looking at the developments over the last 6 weeks and taking stock of the situation.
About three weeks ago, I got off my butt and started preparing. Buying food, ammo, first aid supplies, non-parishables, books, etc. If push comes to shove, my family will fair just fine...
See, I’m preparing for inflation, poverty, shortages, war...
But we all have to see the big picture. We’re not headed for any of these things.
We’re headed for the USSR. We’re headed for Eastern Germany. We’re headed for a society where you’re afraid to cook your food for fear that the smell will alert the authorities.
We’re headed for Communism with a capital “C”.
I’m positive that 50% of Americans (and 90% of us FReepers) could survive shortages, poverty, war, etc. And I’m not really concerned about that.
But no one here has ever survived Communism. We all know enough about it to know that it’s evil - a real soul killer - but not by personal experience. I’m very much afraid that the reality will be much worse than any of us can imagine.
What can we do? First of all, I’d like to make the suggestion that we remain humble. Do the best that we can do to prepare for the worst, then accept that already, what’s happened is worst than the most paranoid of us ever imagined.
Ban together. Make FRiends. Because no matter what we’re faced with, war or the slavery of Communism, we’ll fare better together than we would alone.
We’re in for a *very* rocky road. I don’t think any of us will recognize our world in 10 years, but I do think that it’ll be worse than any of us can dream.
“worse” not “worst than the most paranoid of us ever imagined.”
