Govt. agencies were also involved in contingency planning and preparations as well. Y2K has largely been written off by the general public (and Piper) as an expensive hoax, simply because they were spared its effects through the expenditure of billions of dollars world wide by govt. and private sector initiatives. Piper's rejection of Wilkerson is based upon 1). mistaken belief that Y2K was a hoax; 2). Intuition ("feel")as regards his interpretation of scripture. I think most of us will agree that the current state of affairs is unsustainable; that a breakdown is long overdue; that you don't have to be particularly religious to believe as Wilkerson does, that the Good Lord is about to provide us with a demonstration of his power..."Stand by on this frequency for an important message."

Thanks for your intelligent insightful comments.
It seems to me that far too many people mistake God for Santa Claus and that Santa has a very short list of bad little boys and girls. Hey, when was the last time any American children that we know of got a lump of coal for Christmas and not a ton of toys?
50,000,000 abortions in the U.S. since 1973? Far too many people think that God should be thanking them for helping to keep children from growing up underpriviledged, or possibly even abused.
