But my own effort to be discerning says: Stick with the Bible, David. It is scary enough. And it is absolutely true. And your credibility will never fall.One of the things that sticking with the Bible does is to keep you from being a sensationalist predictor of coming events. So many folks tend in this direction, and so many Christians believe them without batting an eye. Most of popular Christianity is an exercise in falsely reading the tea leaves of the day. Christians have a natural faithfulness that makes them want to believe these guys. Anyone who claims to be from God and have His message must be honest, right? Wrong. That is why there are so many warnings throughout the NT about this sort of spiritual naiveté.
Bottom line, nobody is getting a personal “word from the Lord” about what is going to happen tomorrow.
