“Suzuki needs to be kicked out of the USA. He is taking a multi million dollar job from a deserving American when he plays for the Seattle Mariners.”

Please tell us you are joking.

Ichiro Suzuki is one of the best baseball players in the world - Seattle is VERY lucky to have him. Ten's of thousands of Japanese citizens have come to Seattle to watch him play.

Ichiro Suzuki has been a minor ‘boom’ to the Seattle economy.

Ichiro Suzuki currently holds the record for most hits in a season: 261, and most seasons with more than 200 hits: 7.

He is a world class talent and we are lucky to have him!

"most seasons with more than 200 hits: 7."

Ty Cobb:
1907: 212 hits
1909: 216 hits
1911: 248 hits
1912: 226 hits
1915: 208 hits
1916: 201 hits
1917: 225 hits
1922: 211 hits
1924: 211 hits

And if they had a 162-game schedule back then, he'd have 6-7 more.

I like Ichiro, and think he's one of the best pure hitters of our time, but he has a lot more advantages than the earlier guys (including getting to face my Royals pitching staff for the past 7 years).
