I don’t know about you, but I’ve gone from frustrated to plain-out bored with multiculturalism. The whole thing has become such a mainstream cliché that I now avoid most things that are “mainstream.”

Multiculturalism Is Boring As Hell

Sharing a neighborhood with rabble-rousing Imams and Mexican gangs is far from boring.

I’m getting tired of the multiculturalists breaking our laws by sneaking into our country and then saying that they have a “constitutional right” to do it.

My response has been to become openly and aggressively derisive of anything other than traditional American cultural values. “well, I guess that’s probably how third worlders do it, but you came here to get away from that culture and its consequences.”

What the author describes is tokenism, not real multiculturalism. Leftists wouldn’t know what it means to study other cultures, they view everything through the political prism. They turn a blind eye towards things they don’t like (oppression, female castration, racism, etc.) so that they can celebrate politically sanitized versions of non-WASP cultures.

As somebody who loves studying other countries and other cultures, I think it’s pretty darn stupid. It’s so funny to watch some stuffy latte liberal get angry when somebody makes a crack about how Asians are good at math. You *know* that person doesn’t have any real Asian friends if they think that is offensive to Asians.

You said it. Real multiculturalism isn’t this “koombya” crap they shove down our throats. True multiculturalism comes from people seeing other people for who they are despite cultural backgrounds, where different cultures exchange ideas and customs, I.E. A melting pot.

A true multicultural society would see nothing wrong with a white person attending a traditionally black church or an Southeast Asian person listening to reggae music. However, for most liberals, they want a “fruit salad” or an “ethnic stew” multicultural society. The problem with “ethnic stews” is that the black beans and the zucchini start competing for the same space and gang wars ensue or a black bean suddenly decides that he’d rather mix in with the rest of the broth and the other black beans think he’s being a sell out. Or you might have some unauthorized ingredients enter into the stew.

As Savage says, borders, language and culture.
