Newsweek: Capitalism is the Problem!
ConservativeAmerican.org ^ | April 24th, 2009 | Peter Andrew

Eleanor Clift of Newsweek writes: "The great asset he (Obama) has is the collapse of the Republican Party. They have neither a credible message nor messenger. They’re railing against big government, when the core issue is the failings of capitalism. They call for smaller government and berate Obama for moving toward socialism when people are not hungering for tax cuts. They’re looking for jobs so they can pay taxes. Instead of developing alternative policies, they’re back to attacking FDR. He won four elections."

They’re looking for jobs so they can pay taxes.

Clean out your accounts and send me the check Eleanor. Capitalism is doing you no good and you should just give it up.

Socialism is clearly a bigger failure than capitalism. We've got decades and decades of data to back that up.

They call for smaller government and berate Obama for moving toward socialism when people are not hungering for tax cuts.

Unfortunately, the Republicans have set the stage for this (faulty) formulation. "Republicans seek smaller government"== "tax cuts". Well, the reality ought to be "smaller government" == "less government spending", but I can't point to too many Republicans who actually hold to THAT philosophy.

Newsweek: Capitalism is the Problem!

If it wasn’t for capitalism, she would be in a bread line somewhere.

Eleanor Clift-the mind power of my kid’s pet hamster and face of my dog’s ass. She made John McLaughlin seem slightly less than completely insane.

"They’re looking for jobs so they can pay taxes"

Um huh?

Step away from the crack pipe, let go the bong, stop licking the acid paper and come back to reality. Really, you'll be better soon.

Bad capitalism is the problem. And capitalism got bad, because government stuck it’s nose in the tent and corrupted it. Capitalism should reward good behavior, and punish bad behavior, and big government has skewed this.

To get capitalism back, you have to get government out of it, and that means letting bad companies (this means you GM) die.

And when Newsweek fails and Clift is out of a job, will she attribute that to the forces of supply-and-demand?

Newsweek: Capitalism is the Problem!

She's right, Newsweek can't survive in a capitalistic society where people have a CHOICE in what they read.

LOL! Yeah NewsWeak - capitalism REALLY sucks when people stop buying your propaganda because we are SICK of it! We can get that DNC talking points sh*t on the Internet for free.

I guess the few advertisers to your “news” magazine do not really care about capitalism too much anymore either. If capitalism is the problem then let em run their ads for FREE in your dying magazine.

Now go off and die with the NY Times. Save a few millions trees and the birds who live in those magnificent trees.

I used to think the Washington Post (whcih owns NewsWeak) would be protected a bit more because they own local TV stations and Wa Po newspaper which all the vermin in DC read.

These people are so out of touch.
I am not so sure anymore. They could die like the NY Times are dying and on life support. Local TV stations are dinosaurs like lib newspapers.

She gets paid too much for doing nothing of consequence. Like most actors or writers. They get to live nice middle-class lifestyle but don’t actually earn it.

“They’re looking for jobs so they can pay taxes.”

Uh, no. I’m looking for a job so I can buy groceries and pay the mortgage. And, I despise every penny of taxes I pay because the governments (Fed, state, and local) do NOT represent my interests, my beliefs, or my future. The money they steal from us goes, instead, to push us further and further down the slide toward socialism, and they don’t give a rip what it will all cost in the end.

And, Newsweek has become one of their primary mouthpieces, IMO.

It’s time to take back the country.
