Venezuela's socialist strongman Hugo Chavez ordered the expropriation of some 60 oil service companies and assisted government-owned oil company PDVSA (parent of CITGO) in looting those firms unfortunate enough to have invested in the workers' paradise.
"To God what is God's, and to Caesar what is Caesar's," said the Venezuelan president as he stole at least a dozen oil rigs, more than 30 oil terminals, and more than 300 boats. "Today we also say: to the people what is the people's," said Chavez, who is a hero to his American friends and admirers including actors Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Kevin Spacey, Ed Asner, singer Harry Belafonte, and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Ana Maria Ortiz and I profiled the pro-terrorist Chavez and his American buddies in Organization Trends last year.

Thanks very much for the post and your work. BTTT!
Sounds like more piracy that needs to be stamped out.
Sean Penn would just die if we went over to his place and looted it ~ “Power to the People” Sean!

Goverment theft like this isn’t socialism, it’s fascism. No wonder Chavez and Hussein are such big buddies. Our acting president probably can’t wait for this thugs book to come out.
My thoughts exactly. Neither country lives under the rule of law any more. It's all about power, and both leaders believe they have the power to take by force. I'm wondering whether they will succeed at a long term cost much greater than the value of what they steal, or just fail violently.
Even before Obama's "spread the wealth around" comments and the first serious discussion of TARP, Pelosi's House worried me, so I pulled out in time and at a profit. The real worry is where business in the US and in Venezuela will get investment capital in the future. It won't be from me! I don't know how long it takes to restore trust after the government itself steals from investors or from lenders, but it'll be a long time.
Anyone that buys Citgo gasoline is an idiot. You’re supporting a Marxist thug.
This world is building toward a explosion of war.
