That seems to be the read on her.

Kinda dumb and a bully.

I don't think anyone had any realistic expectations that Obama would pick someone unlike that.

She can't be wrong any more than Souter was, just for a longer period of time.

Dumbness has never been a disqualification for liberal judges. Ginsburg is a good example.

If you think she’s dumb you should see the C-SPAN debate between Scalia and Breyer. Holy crap. Scalia mops the floor with him.

I’d like to know what makes a PR woman’s experience so superior to a white male?

Can she play golf? I bet not.

Mark Levin, Men in Black, Preface, p.8:

Marshall, appointed by LBJ in 1967, stayed on the Court too long. In his final years on the Court he became indifferent to his judicial duties- he reportedly left much of the writing of opinions to his clerks and sometimes didn’t bother to read briefs submitted by counsel. Instead, he apparently spent many hours in his chambers watching television, especially soap operas. ...he once told fellow justice William Brennan that you could learn a lot about life from soap operas.

Sheila Jackson-Lee has a law degree from the University of Virginia, but that’s not good enough...not “Ivy League.” Anyway SJL wouldn’t have been a “first” the way that a Hispanic choice is.

Thank God for Bush’s super-high approval rating after the Kuwait war. Marshall could have stayed on the court until his death, and then Clinton would have selected his successor. Instead, he retired in 1991, evidently assuming that Bush would be re-elected in 1992, and Bush picked Clarence Thomas.

They expressed questions about her temperament, her judicial craftsmanship, and most of all, her ability to provide an intellectual counterweight to the conservative justices, as well as a clear liberal alternative.

Impossible. No liberal can provide an intellectual counterweight to the likes of Scalia, Roberts, etc.
