The Unified School District in Alameda California has passed a curriculum by a 3-2
vote that includes includes a compulsory 45-minute Lesbian Gay Bisexual and
Transgendered (LGBT) lesson for kindergarten through fifth grade. The kindergarten
lesson will study sexual orientation stereotypes with childrens books like "And Tango
Makes Three" a story about two gay male penguins. School Officials say they will not
allow parents to opt their kids out of the program because it falls under "anti-discrimination
provisions of California law.

Here is a video of the School Board Meeting.

Sorry, parents can opt out. The school board can say compulsory all they want but parents can remove their children.

Yep that is their tactic. I’m telling you when people see the video and the information on this kind of think they flip out. If we had a national add campaign just distilling these kind of activist events we’d see polls shift 10-15 points in our direction. The number of people supporting gay marriage has fell 6 points since 2007 in the latest Gallop. I’m going to put together a snippet to send to newspapers nationwide to help push the awareness up. One of the things that we conservatives still don’t do well enough is coordinate our efforts.

The bullies running the school system have a few choices: They can let the parents opt out, no matter what the school board says. They can watch the parents teach age-inappropriate but effective lessons immediately after every gay indoctrination lesson to counter the school’s propaganda. Or they can watch the parents leave in droves.

The problem is that you really don't know when they will teach that. I live in a liberal school district and my daughter was bombarded with global warming crap for weeks.

It’s an effort by the liberals to drive the conservatives out of the public school system. What they don’t seem to get is that people who don’t send their kids to public schools don’t vote for education funding either.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

It’s really irrelevant whether the parents can opt out.

Kindergarten children do not need this kind of education. Moral education is the parents job. The schools need to focus on making them literate and are failing miserably.

Same sex lessons are taught at a kindergarten level, but when a 16-year old has sex with his teacher it is called rape and nipples on women’s breasts are blocked out on TV because it is too provocative for the viewers.

Someone help me out and explain the logic of it all.

Or their name rhymes with something, anything, doesn't matter what.

Or they don't have the trendiest clothes or shoes.

Or they wear glasses.

Point is, kids bully for many reasons, and for no reason at all. Anti bullying, in general, is all that is needed. When we went to school, there was a code of conduct for the school. “We do not believe in the bullying or booing of anyone” was one on the list.

I think school ought to stick to the basics & in many schools they can't seem to get the children to learn them...

I am so sick & tired of the whining gays & their rights issues. I wish they would go back in the closet. Little children do not need to learn about sex. But if they must teach the kiddies about gay sex then tell them the whole ugly truth. Tell them just what gay sex is & what can happen to you if you practice it. By all means, tell the kiddies how they can die from AIDS. I know my sons would have come home horrified about gays if they were taught the whole truth about them in kindergarten. They would have had nightmares.

We are here. Ron Prentice and Prop 8 were there. We need to a national organization to help stop this kind of thing. This battle began before Fox news and before conservatives had the resources to really fight back effectively. We have the resources now and we have a public that is getting fed up and tired with the sexual activists. I’m tired myself. It seems the battle never ends whether it be global warming, sexual activism, abortion, or socialism. The irony is that on Abortion, global warming, and sexual activism we have made more progress while actually losing ground in the area of fiscal conservatism. I have a feeling that one of the reason we here so much whining from moderates and stealth liberals is they know this which is why they repeatedly try to shame and intimidate us into giving up.
These issues as long as we stand up they can never win.

Just imagine if the playing field in the media were fair and we could run ads without the lib networks taking them down. If we could present our experts with out having them shouted down and called bigots and haters. That we have held the line so far and have continue to win battles even with a money and resource disadvantage. This drives the left crazy.
