What's Going on with Cable News Channels?
Columbia Conservative Examiner ^ | May 30, 2009 | Anthony G. Martin

Posted on 05/30/2009 12:18:36 PM PDT by Welshman007

A curious phenomenon is occurring with regard to cable news viewers. Since the election those networks that have been decidedly pro-Obama are in deep trouble. Revenue has tanked and viewers have been leaving in droves. At the same time, outlets such as Fox News have been gaining new viewers by leaps and bounds. What's going on here? There is a reasonable explanation for the shift, and the news isn't good for the Obama administration.

You can get Fox News live and for free on the internet...

Just cancel your cable subscriptions and send a REAL message.

It’s why Obama is ramming through his agenda as fast as possible. Health care is next, and the big peices will all be done before 2010.

I am on the verge of doing just that. I don’t watch anything but Fox anyhow.

Anyone who thinks Obama is not in trouble isn’t paying attention. People have seen that Obama was a mistake.

I dropped it 3 months ago... I dont miss it in the least bit.

We are renting a lot of movies.. even old ones... its awesome.
No more endless channel surfing through a bunch of crap, or commercials about male enhancements and STDs.

And hey... if you want to save even more money, just go to your local library... they rent videos for free.

Furthermore, it’s all to easy to get it back if you just cant do without your football.

MSNBC’s owners don’t care because if Obama succeeds in implementing his global warming agenda GE stands to benefit greatly. Much moreso than if MSNBC got good ratings and Obama wasn’t able to implement his agenda. Thus MSNBC’s advocacy, if successful, would be financially beneficial to its owners despite the low ratings.

Not complicated:

When the “establishment” has become 100% brainwashed, gay, Hollywood commies.

It’s hip (and hugely profitable) to be square!

What truly baffles this poster - is that only Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdoch, seem thus far to have figured that obvious bit of “duh” out.

One can only surmise their competitors are so thoroughly partisan in their determination to provide constant propaganda - that they are not actually ruled by the usual laws of capitalism.

The end game for them, is complete power.

For some reason, leftwing so-called “journalists” seem to believe the tiger they’re one and all, so carefully feeding - won’t eat them too...

History suggests otherwise.

In fact, given liberals’ clearly demonstrated tendency to throw their own “under the bus” at the blink of an eye.

It’s likely, those useful idiots - will be first ones eaten.

Maybe. Maybe not. He's still enjoying over a 60% approval rating by every pollster I've seen. Sure, his negatives are increasing, but that's reflective the people who didn't like him in the first place feeling even more strongly about it now.

I'll feel much more confident about the GOP's chances when Obama's approval rating drop to 50% or less.

By comparison, Clinton's approval ratings reached their lowest levels (less than 40%) before the '94 midterms, leading to a bloodbath in the House. If Obama continues to enjoy above 55% approval rating, the GOP's outlook for 2010 won't be good.

Which is all the empirical evidence I need to understand to know for an unquestionable fact that there is indeed a significant liberal bias in the media.

In any other industry, the market share leader is emulated or copied. Business leaders understand what works, and if they didn't think of it first, they mimic it. This is a universal truth understood by every first-year business school student.

FNC has been the dominate, preeminent news channel for the last ten years, at least. Yet, we haven't seen any cable or broadcast news organizations modify their approach or format. In fact, many have leaned even further to the left.

The people who run these companies are not idiots, despite overwhelmingly evidence to the contrary. They have made a conscious decision to abandon the best-practices of business management in favor of their own ideological bias. It's that simple.

Could it be the same reason liberal newspapers are going under?

What's going on here?

Is it possible that common sense and sanity still exists in America? What else could it be? I don't think people are tuning in for O'Reilly's pop culture quiz.
