President Barack Obama voiced shock and outrage this evening over the slaying of a Wichita, Kan., abortion-provider, Dr. George Tiller.

Tiller, who remained one of the nation's few providers of late-term abortions despite decades of protests and attacks, had been several years shot before. This time, the shooting as he served as an usher at his church today was fatal.

"I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning,'' Obama said in a statement issued by the White House this evening.

This is how we respond: The prolife community in Kansas and elsewhere provide crisis pregnancy centers and react to late term abortion by supporting perinatal hospice. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2261904/posts

(And, yes, I will spam every thread on Tiller’s death with this link. We cannot be silent about the good work done for life.)

You may as well be a liberal if you’re willing toss out everything that makes you a conservative to engage liberals. That’s if you ever possessed those traits of integrity.

I’m not throwing ANYTHING out.

What I do for a living every day is who I am.

Raising my kids properly is who I am.

Paying my taxes is who I am.

A law abiding citizen is who I am.

Speculating on how evil Obama is capable of being given a set of circumstances? Something he’s already doing to me? That’s defending myself and what I believe in. He can do it to me, I can do it back to him.

You go ahead and be his whipping post. I refuse to unless I get to whip back.

I am outraged that the TOTUS would comment on one abortionist but not the dozens of other people killed every day.We are all equal to God , right?

I do totally agree with you on this!!

Of the 2 patients that walk into an abortion clinic, only one leaves :(

It is an outrage that the president would comment on this subject yet is silent on the loss of innocents.

Have you heard the comments that obama made to the IL senate regarding late-term abortion?

> I gotcha. You don’t care if it’s true or not. Sorry I don’t play that way, I’m a conservative with a highly developed sense of honor.

Hear, hear. We’ve crossed swords before, but one thing that I will say in your favor is that you are a Conservative with a highly developed sense of honor.

Best not to squander that needlessly. So I am with you on this matter.

Fair enough — I’ll do it for him. Melas is a Conservative with a highly developed sense of honor. It is beneath his dignity — and mine — to be party to spinning fanciful Left-Wing Conspiracy theories just because they might score a few points.

The Bad Guys provide us with plenty of opportunity to get at them with real, legitimate stories.

Just my $0.02 worth.

YES! Now you’re getting what I’m saying.

Sometimes, you just HAVE to get in the mud. You want to score points with those that are on the fence about “O” and are not paying that much attention. The smallest seed of doubt in some of these people is what want to achieve.

This is trench warfare now. We can’t play by the rules in certain instances any more. Why? THEY NOW OWN THE RULE BOOK.

Besides, standing around with a cup of tea and a 3 piece suit criticizing the guy that’s actually getting in the ring doesn’t do much for morale, and doesn’t draw support.

This story will be used against us now. We can distance ourselves from this anarchist-abortionist, but it’s obvious from many posts here that too many are willing to put on the blindfold in front of the media firing squad.

Sorry, I’m not going down on this without a fight. I’ll take my chances.

Americans love conspiracies, and a few good ones will hold off the coming onslaught.

I’m not willing to roll over, play dead, and accept defeat here. Right now, this story is not giving us any ground.

If this were Football, I’m going to hold while the referee isn’t looking.

You are however willing to lie, fabricate and spin with no regard for the truth provided it furthers your political ends. You’re no part of a conservative. I doubt you even understand what it truly means to be conservative. You hate liberals and only think that makes you conservative.

Get back to us when you embrace real conservative values such as honesty, integrity, and fairness. If you want to play like the left, just be done with it and join them already.

Politics is spin. Life is for honesty, integrity, and fairness.

Learn the distinction.

I know it. You don’t.

> Politics is spin. Life is for honesty, integrity, and fairness.

I know plenty of politicians who value honesty, integrity and fairness, and it has been my pleasure to work with several of them.

There is neither reason nor excuse to stoop to the level of the Liberals. You may be content to do so: dirty tricks and crooked play aren’t a legitimate part of a Conservative’s repertoire — as Melas has tried to point out to you.

Compromising one’s principles is making a deal with the Devil. Ultimately there will be Hell to pay.

You don’t have a clue. Character isn’t something you turn on and off as the situation demands. If you can turn it off, you were faking it to begin with. I repeat, you don’t have the slightest clue as to what it truly means to embrace conservative values.

Try me, pal.

I didn’t accuse you of being liberal, but now you’re doing it to me?

If you think that being “conservative” means that you have to accept defeat for the sake of appearing “virtuous”, then you obviously have nothing to live for.

I would happily give up my reputation for my children’s future.

You’re not my judge. I’m not yours either, but I’ll sacrifice anything for those I those I deeply care about. You? From a few posts, now you’re Freud.

Good luck. You need it.

> I would happily give up my reputation for my children’s future.

I sure wouldn't. That's a terrible trade, particularly if you do not have to make it.

"Who steals my purse steals trash; ''tis something, nothing; ''Twas mine, ''tis his, and has been slave to thousands; But he that filches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him And makes me poor indeed."

William Shakespeare, Othello

There is absolutely no reason or excuse for Conservatives to compromise themselves to defeat Liberals. We need not and should not stoop to their level. Ever.

Principle is what separates Conservatives from Liberals. Liberals are unprincipled, by definition.

Anyrate, that's the last I'm going to say on this subject. Melas is right, and IMO you would do well to heed what he has said.

Die Hard, it’s easy to say what you would and wouldn’t do, until the rubber actually hits the road.

I’ve already had to make a major life and death decision. I’ve been to the other side. TWICE. Literally. After looking back on it, I made the right call. I get an A+.

Life (and especially politics) leads to no moral absolutes when it comes to real life moments of intense, immediate decision.

There will be times in all of our lives where one will have only a few choices, and one has to decide, in the blink of an eye, which is the lesser sin, because there is no such thing in that instance of pure virtue.

“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” John 8:7

I’d like to know which one of you two are perfect.

All I was advocating was political mud-slinging. I wasn’t telling anybody to violate a biblical commandment.

I only advocated using suspicion. I never advocated flat-out lying.
