Sarah Palin's Statement Regarding William Long (Recruiter who was murdered)
Sarah Pac ^ | 6/2/09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 06/02/2009 7:28:44 AM PDT by rintense

"The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media's hands yesterday - both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death."

It is both reassuring that Sarah Palin is saying these things, assuredly and unabashedly -- and frightening that not a single other Republican leader is speaking up.

(Not including Rush, Levin and similar commentators -- they speak for conservatives, but they are commentators/entertainers, not politicians.)

OMG! I adore this woman - I think she is the only politician who has made a statement about these soldiers!

Ben Smith at Politico has picked up on Palin's statement:

“but equally disgusting”

####

Your points are well made.

However, it is the morally equivalent phrase above that rankles. I staunchly reject the idea that these murders were “equally disgusting”.

Speaking of staunch, by the way, you’ll find no more stalwart supporter of the redoubtable Governor Sarah Palin than I.

I wonder how many more it will take before people take up arms against islamic hate groups?? All of these murders could’ve been stop with some action from our elected politicians. This should wake them up a bit and show lack of action is unexceptable against thugs. Im sure B.O. will apologize to more Muslims that hate freedom and justice and our way of life.

“The only nationally known Republicans, who are not talk show hosts, exhibiting any leadership these days.

Sarah Palin
Liz Cheney
Dick Cheney”

I’ve got to agree. Perhaps they should start their own party or work on kicking out all of the Dem-Lites (RINOs).

Thank you Governor Palin! We’re still waiting for a statement from the President of the United States concerning that murdering terrorist attack in Little Rock yesterday. The first domestic terrorist attack since the election of the new administration. The silence is deafening!

Take your innuendo and shove it.

If Sarah wants to impress all but her acolytes she should call a spade a spade.

Solid, I agree 100% with the statement regarding the murder of this serviceman by what I term an enemy combatnt.

But I have a little different take on the murder of Tiller.

Here it is:

THE GRUESOME TRUTH OF THE ABORTION HOLOCAUST & THE DEATH OF DR. TILLER [Warning: A graphic photo of death & dismemberment]

“It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal, used to kill; education that can enlighten, used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy that sustains modern life, used as the machinery of mass death, a ruthless, chillingly efficient system where many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands.”–Barack Obama April 24, 2009, Holocaust Remebernce Day, Chicago Sun Times.

Even she won't call the killer what he is, a muslim terrorist.

"The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic"

fanatic –noun a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics.

Close enough for me.

Not me. By this definition the guy who killed the baby-killing doctor was nothing but a fanatic.

If Palin called the killer of the GI what he is, a muslim terrorist, then I'd be impressed.
