Sarah Palin's Statement Regarding William Long (Recruiter who was murdered)
Sarah Pac ^ | 6/2/09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 06/02/2009 7:28:44 AM PDT by rintense

"The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media's hands yesterday - both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death."

Take your innuendo and shove it.

If Sarah wants to impress all but her acolytes she should call a spade a spade.

Solid, I agree 100% with the statement regarding the murder of this serviceman by what I term an enemy combatnt.

But I have a little different take on the murder of Tiller.

Here it is:

THE GRUESOME TRUTH OF THE ABORTION HOLOCAUST & THE DEATH OF DR. TILLER [Warning: A graphic photo of death & dismemberment]

“It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal, used to kill; education that can enlighten, used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy that sustains modern life, used as the machinery of mass death, a ruthless, chillingly efficient system where many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands.”–Barack Obama April 24, 2009, Holocaust Remebernce Day, Chicago Sun Times.

Even she won't call the killer what he is, a muslim terrorist.

"The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic"

fanatic –noun a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics.

Close enough for me.

Not me. By this definition the guy who killed the baby-killing doctor was nothing but a fanatic.

If Palin called the killer of the GI what he is, a muslim terrorist, then I'd be impressed.

The only nationally known Republicans, who are not talk show hosts, exhibiting any leadership these days.

Sarah Palin
Liz Cheney
Dick Cheney

You are correct. I'll add that Sarah Palin is the only one talking about the need and importance of S.D.I.

The other “republicans” should be ashamed.

The other "republicans" have no shame and that is why they are so easily evasive and duplicitous.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Among all the talked about 2012 nominees, Sarah is the one leading the way on the topics Americans care about. The only thing that would have made her statement better is to specifically challenge Obama to make a statement condemning this attack, just like he did the Tiller murder. But, we now know that Obama cares more for an abortion doctor than our military personnel. Whoever is advising him is a complete moron. You can guarantee that our brave soldiers will not let this go unnoticed.

Sorry - but the Tiller case has gotten far more attention that it should have - and has basically overshadowed this much larger story of domestic terrorism. I would definitely have mentioned the Tiller shooting. The shooting of the abortionist is being pinned on Conservatives/Christians where it does not belong. By specifically saying that his shooting, regardless of our feelings about the man (monster), was wrong.

This is brilliant. Every time an event occurs she seems to be putting out a statement about it. This puts her on the same level as the bozo, and it makes her almost a shadow President. I hope she continues as I see her in the coming Civil War being the leader of the United Free States of America. Which in a way she is already.

I like what Palin is sayin, only problem is, she isn’t sayin it, she keeps issuing statements. That doesn’t seem right to me. It reinforces the image I have of her that she is all image. She can’t run for President and be President by issuing statements. Issuing statements reinforces the image that I have of her that she is all image. Hey, it might be great that she thinks like me, but so what, so do millions of others, does she have the ability to boldly advance her agenda, in her own words without statements? By the way, why is it ok for Palin to qualify that it is wrong to murder someone who kills babies, yet it’s not ok for Romney to claim that Sotomayor isn’t a racist? Both are wrong. It is ok for Palin to qualify and try to do a tap dance, but it’s not ok for Romney? I didn’t like it when Romney said that Sotomayor isn’t a racist, and I also didn’t like it that Palin said the murder of the baby killer was wrong. I know it is illegal, but was it wrong? It used to be illegal too at one time to help a slave escape, but was it ever “wrong.” I don’t know, I have a problem with it. Late term abortions are pretty disgusting, but I don’t know if it was correct either for Palin to be sayin it was wrong about the murder. I am not advocating murder, but I am not so sure it is right to be denouncing it either.

If any politician had made the same weak statement then my reaction would be the same.

btw...there are no candidates for 2012 yet, are there? Try to be honest. Tell us who has announced.

I commend Sarah for doing more than the rest of our weak-kneed GOP politicians, and most certainly for saying something that the so-called president, who only hours ago was "shocked" and "outraged" at the murder of a mass abortionist.  Obama hasn't uttered one word against this terrorist act committed on our soil by a Muslim radical who planned to commit as many murders against Americans, if he had the opportunity.  He had an arsenal of weapons at his disposal.

I don't agree with mentioning Tiller here, though.  She already did that yesterday, but nevertheless she has said more than any other political figure has said regarding the issue so far.

PS: Anyone who becomes a Muslim terrorist and harbors the intention of killing Americas due to their professed hatred against America and our American way of life, to me isn't a real American, even if he or she was born in the USA.

Good for you. To some, he might just be another black killing a white- no news there. The only truth to your statement will come when we are definately attacked (again) by muslim terrorists and her words will appear PC.

What we're learning about the perp (no thanks to the MSM) would indicate his Somilia junkets put him right up there with extreme jihadies. He could have taken out a whole bus-load of people with a bomb-belt, but the chickenshit went with the 'drive by'(made popular in the hood).

then I'd be impressed.

Let me tell you what impresses me. Her love for this country and freedom in general (you can get this way living in Alaska). Her ability to follow a path laid out by truth that so many others stray from (including myself). With the right people handling her 'public' image (unlike McCain and company) she will be a force to reckon with- especially by the left whose entire being is built on lies.

I have reservations, but won't list them just now as they are trivial when compared to the doubts that exist with this current administration. The last Hope for conservatives coming from The Last Frontier would not suprise me. The further from the beltway and Northeast- the better, I say.

Anyone who becomes a Muslim terrorist and harbors the intention of killing Americas due to their professed hatred against America and our American way of life,

Victoria, you swerved into something very profound (yet un-reported) in that there are very many people who 'hate' America and all it stands for. Many have good reason, as America (as intended) no longer exists. From the Supreme Court to the halls of various state houses, liberty has been cast aside in favor of a 'police state', and a smothering state/federal presence in every facet of our lives.

Nannyhood on steroids. It wasn't supposed to happen this way, but here we are- enjoy.

Ironically, Bush became the icon for this trend, while Obama touted 'change' which, when it comes, will mean an even greater government involvement in our lives than ever before. But, it'll be by those who have the 'greater good' in mind, and nevermind the losses of individual liberty to make this all possible.

And, if you question these folks, you become the 'hater'. Go figure. So when you wake-up tomorrow and America seems less-great than it was the day before chalk it up to change and cowardice.
