The US is Committing National Suicide
Canada Free Press ^ | Tuesday, June 2, 2009 | Alan Caruba

Growing up as a teenager in the 1950s, I could not wait to get my license to drive and I liked the sporty look of the British MG. These days I drive a Volkswagen. In that short tale can be found the seeds of the end of the American auto industry.

Here’s some history. In 1952, the merger of several British auto companies resulted in the British Motor Corporation. It was the largest of its day with 39% of British output. Despite established dealerships for the various models, a series of poor management decisions resulted in the loss of market share.

"The government is to blame, of course, but you can thank Greenpeace USA, Friends of the Earth, the Sierra Club, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the United Nations Environmental Program, among countless others that have fought against any and all development, any and all economic expansion and growth.

This campaign is coming to a head with a “Cap-and-Trade” bill making its way through Congress that would impose a huge tax on “greenhouse gas emissions” by every industry and business that produces or uses energy. It has no scientific justification. Even the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality has released a study demonstrating that the reduction of CO2 emissions would be minimal at best, but such reductions are absurd because there is no global warming."

Not only has there been no “global warming” for a few years now, but signs point to more of the same... IF diminishing CO2 has an effect, and its effect is to cooling the atmosphere, then we are indeed quickening our demise, as we actually need all the global warming, even man-made, to offset the natural global cooling.

You WILL surrender your SUV and drive one of these Nerfmobiles. Can't fit your family in? No problem. Just take the little buggers to the nearest McTiller franchise for 'disposal'.

This statement alone should tick off our people and States Rights should dictate whether or not a State wants to drill under its own soil. “The U.S. by some estimates has eight times as much oil as Saudi Arabia, eighteen times as much as Iraq and twenty-two times as much oil as Iran.”

For all the entrepreneurialism, Pure American Can-do-ism that comes out of Google, and with all the search info and market info and thousands of well-trained minds able to do stats, see using stats, understand trends of all social scales — where is Google on this.

Do they not see that they are flying into a thousand mile wide thunderstorm with thunderheads at 65k ft, cloud ceiling at 50k ft, jet at 35K ft? They, like we, are as passengers on this jet, and we are taking on super-lightening hits?

Does 2 + 2 still equal 4, even statistically speaking, even for the new-age internationalist POV?

When will Google act like an adult?

I often remind friends that the US obtained Alaska for one simple reason: Plunder it’s resources. Where the he77 did that concept go?

Texas and Alaska should drill in their territories,
and dare the feds to stop them.

Can you imagine armed 0bamasquads going in and stopping crews from drilling for oil when gas hits $4 this summer?

With all due respect, the nerf-mobile is cool. Obama motors will never allow it — it would mock the Romanian Trabants and Yugos we are about to start manufacturing under our new Facsist Leaders of the Obama age.

It went to Saudi Arabia......where else? The interesting thing is, who and why are we tied to them so tightly. Once this comes out, things may change.

The problem is that the Feds own most of Alaska; but for sure Texans should just drill everywhere and tell Obama to pound sand.

I actually saw a Yugo on the road the other day. This weaselly looking guy was doing 50 mph on a 70 mph freeway just west of Coeur d’Alene. Everybody was passing him and giving him a stare.

I figured it was a local frat initiation or something.

And I just can’t wait for the GM (Gerbil Motors) Trabant analogs to start rolling off the production lines.

That’s why they’ve stopped saying “global warming” and now refer to their Marxism as “Climate Change”.

We could supply 100% of our petroleum needs for almost 300 years with just the recoverable oil in our oil shale alone! There are 2 TRILLION barrels of recoverable oil in the oil shale in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming (yes, that is a Wikipedia link; if they're estimating 2 trillion, it's most likely higher than that). At 20 million barrels a day, we have 100,000 days of oil in the oil shale alone - 274 years minimum.

EVERY drop that is currently pumped in the US could be stopped; we would not need to tap ANWR or ANY off-shore production. We could stop ALL exploration and pumping anywhere in the US. We would not need to import a single drop of oil. Just open up the oil shale and supply every drop we need...

I don't doubt that it goes waaaaaay out from just business. But who and why. I aways think middle east connections where we only import 16% of our crude and petroleum from, of which 11% is Saudi Arabia.

We import almost 50% from the western hemisphere; Canada, Mexico, etc...Why not just drop the middle east 16% and pick that up here in the western hemisphere until we become completely self sufficient?

I still believe the states should control their own oil reserves, not the feds. I don’t mind importing from Canada, cut Mexico off until they control their border and other facits. This alone would break the back of Mexico.

It would be if it weren’t for the fact that we are being taken over by that very soft and most luxurious class and from the INSIDE (The Enemy Within- Michael Savage) - The elite of the world including the wealthiest Americans, the bankers, the movers and shakers. Bilderbergers, Council On Foreign Relations, international bankers. This is no conspiracy theory. It is a conspiracy that is 200 years old and was announced in Latin on the dollar bill. From the article:

The Telegraph, a British newspaper, recently did the math on the price of “green” cars, noting that the present UK models cost the equivalent of more than about $5,000 US.

Shouldn't that be $50,000?

When global warming and peak oil were first being discussed and debated as scientific propositions and policy concerns the media paid scant attention to it as it didn’t bleed nor did it elict a gut response in the way of an uptick in sales of subscriptions or hits on web sites.

Back then a skeptic with a head for figures and a nose to the ground could have seen something larger or sniffed a change in the tone of the argument had not in been for other raging crises all about.

Most of them were still reeling from the shock and suddenness of the capitulation of DuPont and the other large chemical companies over the life-threatening depletion of the Ozone layer caused by a complex array of reactions that remained unclear to most people today.

Slowly the science crept away from the din and in its stead stood the harbinger class of fresh-faced fateurs ready to march, banners held high.

Soon the opposition collapsed as this advancing front swept across the land, through every classroom, pulpit and synagogue until the very last molecule of CFC was plucked from the outreached hands of every product ever known.

Yet the emotions ran high, righteous nostrils still flared, victorious warriors saw many dragons in their way in their overheated state and set off to slay the largest dragon of them all — Carbondi Oxide!

Cauldrons brewed long into the sweltering night across the land to fuel the warriors boiling emotions and fill their redeeming souls with Big Bull Energy Drink.

Now fortified and drunk with power they run full tilt toward smokestacks large and small, their solarcell shields flashing, their whiplike windmill lances glancing, sparks dancing as they chase Carbondi into the ground where he must stay forever more.

And now the audience, rapt in its attention swoons with emotion as it neglects the closing door.

I say we re-name the Democrats the "King Canute Party." Sadly, American education is so bad very few will know what's meant.

The hubris exhibited by the Green Religion is awesome! They have stopped evolution with the Endangered Species Act (oxymoronically, since it's their own basic dogma).

The Sahara Club and its ilk have decreed erosion and plate tectonics will be ended forever; that the environment will be kept completely unchanging and pristine solely for their own benefit. They'll visit their own private Nature on weekends and leave elitist turd blossoms of white toilet paper breezily waving in the otherwise never-changing landscape after they've returned to the City.

Their most ambitious project to date is to legislate so-called "climate change" out of existence. Defying nearly 5 billion years of Earth history they'll do a little treaty here, some quick carbon credits there (to make Al Gore even richer) and presto! Then the final job: to eliminate everyone other than themselves to finally make things "right" with Gaia.
