Pvt. William Long was assassinated by a Muslim wannabe jihadist just over 24 hours ago. His fellow soldier, Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula was luckier... and is recouperating in a local hospital. Two of America's finest were ambushed - not while engaged in a firefight in one of Janet Napolitano's "overseas contingency operations", but in a parking lot in Little Rock, AR. In fact, neither Pvt. Long, nor Pvt. Ezeagwula, had yet been deployed to any theatre or battlefield.
The two young recruits were fresh out of basic training, and not regular recruiters. Instead they were pulling some of their first duties in the service of their country in a program using new basic grads to recruit within their home territories.
They were unaware of the threat that stalked them, and were ill-equipped and unarmed.... incapable of defending themselves in a US street battle. They would have had a better chance at self-defense on the streets of Fallujah, or the dirt roads of Afghanistan. Pvt. Ezeagwula may one day have that deployment. Pvt. Long never will.
Witnesses told police that a man inside a black vehicle pulled up outside the recruiting center and opened fire about 10:30 a.m. Long fell onto the sidewalk outside the center, while Ezeagwula was able to crawl toward its door.
Muhammad told authorities that he approached the recruiting center in Little Rock by car on Monday and started shooting at two soldiers in uniform, according to a police report.
"He saw them standing there and drove up and shot them," Lt. Terry Hastings told The Associated Press. "That's what he said."
The media remains relatively low profile on it's coverage of this Muslim man's cowardly attack on two of America's unarmed warriors in the name of jihad. In fact, the mainstay of the stories are featuring the assassin, and not the assassinated.
It's also painful to note the US POTUS doesn't blink an eye, bow his head, or even mention the names of these two young men, or the attack. Even TOTUS is silent... nary a glint of light from the media spotlights are seen reflected off Obama's right hand "man".
Is it because Pvt. Long's death, and Pvt. Ezeagwula's wounds, were not sustained in the glory of battle? Is it quite possible they view this as just another shooting death that needs no comment from the Commander in Chief?
Or is it because it is the first successful terrorist attack on US soil since 911 on Obama's watch, and we dare not notice the system flaws that allowed it?

I am sure this pleases all the ACLU types.
Nothing about this on CBS news last night. But plenty about the ‘heroic’ abortionist.
Sounds like some well placed water boarding would have kept these young soldiers from being shot. You happy liberals?
Do not drag disputes from one thread to another.
Oh goodie, our very own successful Islamojihad attack which we had to wait eight years for! Join the Club, Mr. O!
When these nuts don’t see any interest being paid to a couple of soldiers do you think they’ll just quit? Or do you think they’ll grow in boldness until they can’t be ignored? Think, this kind of cowardice combined with a severe economy of means is quite their style. First it was some box cutters and some outlandish promises of virgins, now they actually pull guns and shoot a couple raw recruits. What to follow? a suicide bombing in a big shopping center, that sort of thing?
As far as the media is concerned, the only good soldier is a dead soldier.
Pvt. Long’s murderer roamed free because the ACLU, the liberal media, and people like Hussein wanted him to. Simple as that.
The longer Firefly goes without commenting on this murder, the more it looks like he supports it.
That’s life in the People’s Republic of Obamastan.
Really?? Strangely, other people manage to note that the MSM did cover the story in some depth: http://bluecollarrepublican.com/blog/?p=2739
But if you only watch Fox News and Billy O’Reilly then I guess you may have missed it?
