You may notice that the average retail price of gas that President Obama inherited was around $1.89.
Five months into the Obama presidency, the price has increased by 41%.
The price spikes of 2008 brought calls for nationalization of the oil industry by a handful of Democrats, but at the time nobody took those calls seriously. It would have been simply unimaginable.
But then, who would have imagined government ownership of GM, AIG, and Citi?
Um, er, I mean, yeah, gotta be Bush’s fault, right?
Gee, last summer that’s all we heard about from the media - non-stop. Bush and the evil oil companies’ fault. Whose fault is it now? zero campaigned on jobs, lowering gas prices, fixing the economy, etc. So far, he hasn’t delivered on ANYTHING.
But he has delivered if you really knew what he was about. In fact, he has bested my expectations. We are now almost a full fledged socialist country.
Obama - “I inherited rising gas prices from the previous administration.”
Obama's been busy.
The GOP had better sharpen up their rhetoric, and fast, or this country will collapse under the weight of Obama's hubris.
Remember how the media set up their cameras at 5 AM at gas stations, waiting for the one that would first post a price with a big number 4 at the beginning? 3.9999 wasn’t good enough for their small minds. They needed a big 4 to flash on their TV screen to impress the small minds of their viewers that Bush Was Bad and Bush Made The Gas Prices Go Up.
Now, gas prices will soon have the big 3 at the beginning, and the media are off covering the latest insults to the Palin family and trying to bolster their agenda that “Christofascists” are more dangerous than islamic fascists.
This belongs right on Obama’s doorstep.
With all the borrowing and the printing of money he has made it worthless, so it takes more to buy less.
Gas prices are just the beginning. Soon this inflation will be everywhere.
This is by design
Allows Obama to push draconian conservation and green policies
Allows Congressional Libs to bash Big Oil and go after the futures markets
I thought so too until the most recent 30y auction.
I just read the other day that the Saudis will probably not increase production unless price of oil reaches $100 barrel. That would probably mean gas at around $3.00 - $3.50 gal.
At this rate, that should be around November.
The media are Obama sycophants, but the GOP could start playing smart and dominate the news cycle if there was some savvy leadership.
Boehner/McConnell are pretty lame.
And meanwhile 0bama twiddles his thumbs...
Five months into the Obama presidency, the price has increased by 41% = OBAMANOMICS in action,he said he had a plan for change and it’s working.
