In most elections it is the independent voter deciding the outcome. And now "independents" are the largest political party. Just read this transcript from the above video:
Now let's the put the Democratic line up there: You see the Democrats started at 39. It slowed down all the way to 33. They're actually losing more than the Republicans are, but they're on the same path to hell.
Now, let me show you the independents. Here's the independent line remember I told you they were about to cross? Look at this. They crossed and now are up to 39 percent. This is the first time it hasn't been like this in 70 years since we have been taking this poll.
As people are moving from the "traditional party" ranks, the independent voter is becoming even more important. And that independent voter is racing away from the president as fast as they can:

People are losing faith in the process itself. They are seeing it’s all about spending and buying votes. While one party does it alot more, the corruption and influence peddling is affecting virtually all. The disgust is apparent.
It’s true. Independents are particularly libertarian leaning sorts are appalled by what they’ve seen already from this administration and Congress, and it’s still early in the term. Perception is finally beginning to catch up to reality.
The thing is, they have no faith in the cuurent GOP either.
That is OK, Obamessiah will sick the new Black Panterss on them along with his Obamination BROWN SHIRTS. By the tim they are done with them they will be licking his boots AGAIN.
That’s the problem. There is no “current GOP.”
Because the GOP fails to stand for anything. Why should anyone be a Republican?
Too bad they didn’t abandon him pre-November 2008, when it still counted.
Absolutely. I think the system is totally rotten at the core.
“People are losing faith in the process itself. They are seeing its all about spending and buying votes. While one party does it alot more, the corruption and influence peddling is affecting virtually all. The disgust is apparent.”
Exactly what I was thinking!
And for good reason. The GOP needs to be decontaminated of liberal RINOs.
All the more reason to get involved with the Tea Party or 912 movements - just the fact that 0 is trying to ridicule them shows how much they have his attention.
“Because the GOP fails to stand for anything”....
In a nutshell!....The repubics better get off their collective asses and show the voters the obvious abuse of power by Obama. The massive spending by Obama could kill him alone if they would just stand up and start yelling!
I don’t have any patience for this buyer’s remorse stuff. People who voted for him and now have second thoughts had access to the same information last summer that everyone else did. Now we’re in the soup.
Back then they were in a state of mass hypnosis and euphoria.
However, instead of viewing the burgeoning ranks of so-called independent voters as a likely boon to GOP chances, keep in mind that the precise politicial definition of an "independent" or a "moderate" is: a person who is too gutless to admit that they really are a liberal.
I think there are many factors at work here, including as you say the general cynicism toward politics and politicians, and the feeling that we’re screwed, no matter who gets elected. Also the fear factor over the economy and job security is overriding a lot of concerns that seemed important a year or so ago. The most interesting factor, I think, is when people realize the impact of what Obama is doing is having on their kids and grandkids future. That will continue and it will be like a punch to the gut when it hits. If the GOP candidate (hopefully Sarah Palin) stands tall on traditional American values, pledging to put the country back on the right track, I think she will win in a landslide in 2012. Forget about becoming “Demmocrat Lite” or appealing to Hispanics or other special group - that’s the DNCs tactic. Appeal instead to the basic sense that everyone shares, the desire for those who come after us to have a better life.
