Sorry, but the socialist ALWAYS throw guilt in our face. “Do it for the children”, “We have to help these people”, “What would Jesus do?” They are like mental vampires, they feed off the good will of those who produce to enrich themselves. I’m through listening to anybody throw guilt my way.

Why are you apologizing? I agree totally with your sentiment.
It's called hypocracy... and the best way to deal with it is to throw it right back in their face.

The only difference between a conservative's guilt and a liberal's guilt is that the conservative will face theirs and deal with the problem while the liberal will always look for someone else to do it for them.
Remind them of this, and they will leave you alone.

Also remind them that a government has no soul and can therefore reap no eternal benefit from helping others.

Also remind them that God's Word states that if a man will not work, then neither should he eat... then see if they want to bring up Jesus again.

The only reason that the "guilt trip" tactic works is because we let it. They are far more guilty, and should be reminded of it when they care to make light of ours. Nothing could be done more cruel to an individual than placing them into a state of dependency upon another.

Ask them how many people they have helped to become independent from the bondage of welfare.

I recall seeing a verse of Jesus' in the Gospels something along the line that one should not purposely become a burden on others. For the life of me I can't find that verse.

Maybe it's God's way of telling me that I need to need to stop being so lazy and get back to reading my Bible. And start with the gospels so I can find that verse!
