The young Islamic revolutionaries of the late 1970s are now middle aged, and do not wish to slaughter their neighbors.
That is why the mullahs have imported killers from abroad: the five thousand or so Hezbollahis who, according to Der Spiegel, have been brought in from Lebanon and Syria.
Dissidents on Twitter report clashes with security forces who do not speak Farsi, and there are even some rumors suggesting that Chavez has sent some of his toughs from Venezuela. Who knows?

This is a good article about the foreign elements used to control the crowd.
"We dont know whos going to win. The Iranian people know that theyre on their own; they arent going to get any help from us, or the United Nations, or the Europeans. But paradoxically, this lack of support may strengthen their will. There is no cavalry on the horizon. If they are going to prevail, they and their unlikely leaders will have to gut it out by themselves." God be with them.
Time for Israel to invade Lebanon.
Probably past time. Israel know how to deal with them.
The prospect of Hezbo loons in Iran is a bit ironic. I hope that the Iranian people will greatly thin the ranks of the Hezzies.
He may be calling them home to crack skulls in Honduras.
George Bush's legacy and fight endures in the Mid East, despite, and in spite of Obama, and THAT is Obama's real dilema.
It was George Bush's policy of direct engagement and support of liberty that has led to the people of Iran seeing the measure of freedom now established on both sides of them in Iraq and Afghjanistan...and desiring it for themselves.
Obama cannot possibly go too far in recognizing that, or he absolutely repudiates himself and his entire foreign policy.
...but Obama doesn't want to "meddle".
The fight in Iran goes on.
Others were not.
While brave Iranians are slaughtered in the street by their own government as they seek liberty, Obama disinvited Iranian officials to American 4th of July celebration.
Meanwhile, they are axing students to death.

"There is only one force of history that can break the reign of hatred and resentment, and expose the pretensions of tyrants, and reward the hopes of the decent and tolerant, and that is the force of human freedom.
"All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.
"Democratic reformers facing repression, prison or exile can know: America sees you for who you are -- the future leaders of your free country.
"The rulers of outlaw regimes can know that we still believe as Abraham Lincoln did: "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves; and, under the rule of a just God, cannot long retain it."

Chubby Hugo makes a lot of noise, but is a coward at heart.
He had best worry about his home grown problems.
But on the other hand no one ever accused him of being bright. Just another Commie.
Imagine how HARD this is for Iranian's who cannot even plead to those who beat them back because of the language barrier.
It must feel HORRIBLE to the Iranians!
I HATE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE IRANIANS UHBAMA. You sniveling whimp.
He is that, and he must be watching this and saying to himself what will the reaction be here when the citizens realize what I am doing.
This is very serious business that we must deal with soon. He intends to destroy the U.S. It must not be allowed.
It must not be allowed for us and for the good of the world. This evil must not prevail.
I KNOW THEY ARE. If in my small sphere of existence the people know speak of him with utter disgust and shock at his betrayals of our constitution then it stands to reason that this is happening everywhere.
Something is truly wrong and there is movement in the air. Everywhere.
