Health-care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.
Former Senator Tom Daschle, on Obamas plan to ration health care
This is a joke, right? This is a set up? This is from the Onion or something?
Well if you’re a senior citizen that voted for this garbage...you made your bed, now sleep in it.
any senior citizens who are not on welfare nor black who voted for obamanation ought to go to the head of the ration line!
Easy for Marxist like you and your kind to tell us little folk what to do but you like your kind WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THOSE MEASLY LITTLE THINGS WILL YOU MR. AZZHO DAZZHO?
Need a hip replacement, or corneal transplant? Nah, too expensive, so we might as well just eliminate you. Why even waste food and shelter on such an expensive, unproductive member of society?
Ya’ think he was talking about Teddy Kennedy?
You listening, Ted?
Be a shame if Sen. Dash-hole got prostate cancer. He’s old. Why treat it?
|Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschles book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.
" Michael Tanner, a senior policy fellow at the libertarian Cato Institute, told CNSNews.com the question illustrates the fundamental contradiction in the health-care debate.
" Everybody wants to live forever, and everybody wants their loved ones to live forever, and nobody wants to pay for it, he said.
Tanner suggested Devinskys question(to the President on his own grandmother) gets to the root of the matter whether government should make decisions like the ones Obama made about his own grandmother.
" I think it does show that these are personal questions and therefore something that should be left to the individual and not be rationed by third parties, Tanner said. " Asked whether there would be any restriction on the kinds of rules a government plan might impose, Tanner said, No, no, theres no limit at all.
" (A)nd, in fact, what we would probably see, Tanner speculated, is the use of these clinical effectiveness, or the cost-effectiveness research studies to begin to say, Well, well stop reimbursing for x, y, and z because its not cost-effective.
Define "cost effective".
You will be selected for death in proportion to your worth to society.
The plan is to kill 'em a little faster and steal their life savings to keep up with the healthcare demand for those Obama deems worthy.
I think many of the elderly were "scared" into voting for Obama. He did preach gloom and doom in the marketplace and the environment (although Obama kinda forgot that recently)...had promised to care for the downtrodden with debts to big to handle, tax only the rich (250,000+) who don't pay "their share"...heightened feelings of class envy.
You are correct..they should be scared now. This is where the need for supplemental health insurance comes into play. That's if they have any money left after they take "the farm".
I hope there is a "citizen revolution" in magnitude..but how long does the taxpayer have to suffer before he or she or they will take action? Call it civil disobedience, call it whatever you want.
So the rich (self-earned, invested well) elderly will live and the poor elderly (greeters working at Wal*Mart) will not.
Tom, like our other esteemed retired congress members is exempt from following the National Health Care rules.
Don’t think I’m not scared ____less by all this. I have a lot of health concerns and this really is scary.
You be correct. Some animals are more equal, after all.
That wasnt so tough to figure out was it?? LOL
You can forget pain-killers. According to Fox News Channel, Obama is proposing banning Percocet, Oxycodone, and other such pain-killers because “they cause to many crime problems.”
I am going to look out for my health, sweeten up, so I make a more tasty morsel.
Will they allow me to put my name on the box? /s
Okay, Mr. Daschle, You go first.
Ok, Daschle. You first!
Your potential to pay taxes over a term of years if cured vs. the cost to cure.
Another of the primary reasons for TERM LIMITS! Also, an amendment that requires present and former politicians to live under the laws they passed would be in order.
Great minds think alike!
