New Ad Campaign to Launch July 7 calling Obama proposals ‘exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany’
Indianapolis Examiner ^ | 7-1-09 | RON MOORE-Grassroots Politics Examiner

The anti-Obama group, Our Country Deserves Better PAC, has announced that it will launch an advertising campaign featuring a video claiming that Obama is using tactics common to Hitler’s Germany. An audio teaser video has been released as a fundraising tool to buy time to air the ad.

The ad lists a series of actions including the report ordered by the Bush administration on right wing extremists released by the Department of Homeland Security after Bush left office. They quote an un-named Congressman saying, “They proposed a civilian security force and an American congressman warned it was exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany." -snip-

Kaloogian is also the chair of the right wing group Move America Forward that has campaigns to keep the prison at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base open and to fire Janet Napolitano ostensibly for releasing the Bush “right wing extremist threat” report.

The YOUTUBE Vid of the Audio has been pulled for a "TOS VIOLATION"...

The Examiner is VERY left, and the Article goes on to bash Kaloogian hard.

In my opinion, IT'S ABOUT DAMNED TIME someone started telling the sheeple about the hard-to-miss camparisons between Obamunism, and National Socialism!

Yes, Hitler comparisons always enhance one’s credibility.

Unfortunately, Obama is a Statist, like Hitler, and Obama’s plans seem to combine the worst of Communism, Nazism, Fascism etc.

Trying to blame the Napalitano “terrorist” letter to Bush was rather stupid, as well.

I think we CAN link Obama to Hitler, but it needs to be done by someone who is not a loose cannon.

Read Gunther Reinhardt’s “The Vampire Economy-Doing Business Under Fascism”, from 1939, describing business conditions inside Nazi-Controlled Germany.

The Comparisons between what the nazi’s did, and what the Democrats are doing now is startling, and UNMISTAKABLE.

As Donna Brazille mistakenly let slip on CNN last year, “It’s about CONTROL...”

I believe I detect a bit of sarc/irony in your statement.

It is true the left tried to pin "hitlerism" on Bush; however, the facts of Hitler's rise and "O"'s match in a very real way, starting with community organization, and going thru the very fast takeover of the reins of govt. in every field. The narcissistic egos and grandiloquent speeches are the same. The promises to make the country great by change is same. Hitler, too, wanted to do away with Germany's Christian past and take them into the worship of Nordic Gods--it fitted his super race. I do not see "O" taking on Nordic religion; but his diminution of Christiaity and traditional values is same.

Crying Hitler has been overused, but in this case,it is all too true.

The sad thing is... most Americans now living really don't understand the depth of Hitler's evil or the horrors of Nazi Germany. They know its a bad thing but they don't have the internal terror of the last generation. So, I doubt this will work. Its like McCain using Vietnam. The middle aged and the youth just don't find Vietnam interesting so its not a hot button motivator like it is to our generation.

I agree. I don't think ads like this will work. They will probably end up being damaging for "our side"...

Hitler needs to be retired as an element of comparison and I can’t believe a commercial production company with any intelligence would use it, yet again. It’s lazy, stupid and the user instantly loses any argument.

Why does Hitler need to be retired if not used in a knee jerk fashion? I am not rooting for the ads, here. I am just saying that for the first time in my remembrance, there are EXACT parallels to Hitler's takeover and destruction of Germany and Mussolini's takeover of Italy. The community orgn, grandiloquent speeches, the involvement even of schoolchildren, media adoration and collusion, all fits.

This is not a propaganda motif, but a real, dire warning of the threat to our country. The Germans and Italians could only see good ahead, too. I am 74 and have many European friends who see the same. They lived thru great hope, media propaganda, intimidation, shortages, round up of dissenters, deaths of family and friends, war and terror.

Eventually, these women married GI's and came to the states. They have loved it here for over 50 years, are citizens and take part. They are now very afraid because they see the beginnings of what happened in their old countries here. Not one of them was taken in by "O" speeches.

You’re right. There has to be a better way. Any referral to “Hitler” means you have already lost the argument.

I have to agree with you about that. I am 48yo and Vietnam to me was something we saw on TV in the 60’s. It ended before I was really old enough to know much about it.

Because (1) Obama is a Marxist (2) His wife is a Marxist (3) Hitler comparisons have become laughable (4) Political ads should be creative and relevant, not hackneyed.
