Sarah Palin Comes Out Swinging on Independence Day
facebook/the lid ^ | 7/4/09 | The Lid

Posted on 07/04/2009 7:22:42 PM PDT by Shellybenoit

If you thought that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was going to just fade into the background you are very very wrong. One day after announcing her resignation, Palin became showed everyone what she meant by the little Hockey Mom/pit bull joke. On face book she released a message that smacked the mainstream media for its response to her resignation and hinted that she will be running in 2012..........Later in the day the Governor's attorney Thomas Van Flein on warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims...

Good post! The best place to get news on Sarah, is just like this, right from the lady herself. Glad that her attorney is going after those who slander Sarah. Also thrilled that they called out certain media traitors as the usual suspects in spreading around defamatory lies about our Sarah.

John Batchelor: "As a candidate, (Gov. Palin) begins the nomination hunt with a formula
that none of her rivals can match, not even (backstabber RINO) Mitt Romney,
not only because she gave up something in order to go for the
White House but also because she reached this decision by being drafted.

"What is going on right now in the Republican Party—
even as the professionals scramble to react with grins and
snorts to the news of Palin’s Alaska resignation—
are the early scenes of the 2012 campaign for the presidency
with Sarah Palin as the once and future hero. Like Joan of Arc,
Catherine the Great, Elizabeth Regina, and, skipping
four centuries of quarrelsome princes, Margaret Thatcher,
the Republican Party has already decided that the governor of Alaska
will rescue the GOP from its ruination.
What Sarah Palin begins with an announcement from
Wasilla is not only a campaign, it is an Iditarod of a crusade—
first woman, first mom, and second moose-hunter into the White House."

"In fact, the governor does not need much more than a ballot line from the aimless,
tongue-tied, villain-rich GOP. She certainly does not need the GOP to do well
in the congressional mid-terms in 2010; she does not need the party
to improve its flabby polling on health care or trust;
she does not even need the Republican Party to raise a voice
to explain her positions on the burning controversies on Capitol Hill.
Palin does not need to prove anything at all about wise government,
because she appeals directly to the anti-authoritarian crowd that has
been with us since Shay’s Rebellion in 1787."

The msm would dearly love Palin to go away. They are more afraid of her than any other politician on the Republican side. Because Palin is the Republican who most adheres to conservative positions on the issues. And she has the most charisma by far of any Pubbie pol. And all the “scandals” that have supposedly been taking place under her admin are actually petty and sometimes made up out of whole cloth. They throw mud at her, and see what sticks. So far, none of it is sticking.

“To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as ‘fact’ that Governor Palin resigned because she is ‘under federal investigation’ for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation,” Van Flein said in a statement. “This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law.”

I am holding back my judgment at this point. Sarah may have cooked her own goose by resigning, but then again, it does cut the Gordian knot. It was definitely a gamble, but I agree with the author that the message clearly indicates she is not about to fade away.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

I think she decided to TAKE THE COUNTRY BACK....

When the country you love is spiraling out of control, when you see a new President use oratory hypnosis (similar to that used by Stalin, Hitler, all the great totalitarian rulers, to persuade people to believe in things that are bad for the country and not in their own self interests then you must take a stand and make a difference, BOLD choices not watered down excuses.

The typical responses from the left and many weak minded individuals on the right will be cynical... but if anything Sarah Palin has earned a place as a true American Patriot.

America is burning sound the alarm....

Will someone please do a screen shot of Shannyn Moore’s ‘Exclusive’ LIE on Sarah Palin? It will probably disappear after the NOTICE given by Sarah Palin’s attorney!

http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7280

She (Shannyn Moore) says Palin is “resigning as part of damage control” due to a scandal that is “not of a family nature.” ...

“The governor would not be able to continue her job when it comes out,” she (Shannyn Moore) told me on the phone just now, before adding: “Why would Mark Sanford not resign, but Sarah Palin did? Her family didn’t even know about the resignation until they were standing with her by the lake” when she made her announcement.

This may be a good time to bring up the issue of libel and slander law. Why do they exist? What is being violated or damaged? I don’t own my public image, it being a thing that exists solely in the minds of others. Other people’s thought cannot be my property.

She already accomplished her goals as GOV

Resigning enabler her to:
FInish the book and get it to the printers sooner (according to FOX seven figure advance)
Go on the Book tour
GO on the talk shows.

Do the hundreds of speaking for pay engagments she’s had to turn down (She makes less than 100,000 as gov.)

Campaign for other running for congress...Get the GOP elected.

Basically she’s following the step Charle Krauthammer listed for her.

1. She’s gotten rid of the governorship, it had become a stone around her neck holding her back.

2. Decide of a few topic to emphasis....That was done in the last paragraph of her Independence Day greeting today.

less government intervention,
greater energy independence,
stronger national security, and
much-needed fiscal restraint

3. Get down to the lower 48. First event scheduled in CA Aug 8th.

A Song of Support for Sarah Palin

(a parody of the 1917 patriotic march song
"We'll Be There, Uncle Sammy" by Arthur Pryor)

sarahpalin.mid

We're just waiting, Sarah Palin, we're just waiting your command,
And we're ready, Sarah Palin, just to show you where we stand.
We are watching for your signal, when you flash it, we'll be there.
Raise your finger, we'll not linger, we'll be there!
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there,
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there!
Tell to us the old, old story that you need us for Old Glory.
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there!
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there,
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there!
Tell to us the old, old story that you need us for Old Glory.
We'll be there, Sarah Palin, we'll be there!

Not for treasure, Sarah Palin, will we follow where you lead,
Not for kingdoms, Sarah Palin, not for power or for greed,
But for freedom, Sarah Palin, freedom here and ev'rywhere.
You're our leader, you're our pleader, we'll be there!

“This may be a good time to bring up the issue of libel and slander law”

I’d like to add that libel law is made ridiculous by itself, without any help from me. For it excludes celebrities to a certain extent, even though their reputations matter more to them, in a professional sense, than your average Joe. In the face of Michael Jackson’s life, for instance, the courts realize you can’t control gossip, and so forth. Why they don’t realize this holds as well for regular Joes is beyond me.

This is the so called "Ice Berg" scandal that they say is going to sink Sarah. It reportedly involves a Sports Center built in Wasilla when she was Mayor. They are saying that she and Todd used materrial from that job to build their own house.

My guess is that the Dems, the DNC, and the Obama Justice Department will try and make something of it...but if there was any thing to be had here, they would have come out with it long ago...either when she ran for Lt. Governor, Governor, or during the Presidentail campaign.

They will bring it up and push for it...but my guess is that once they get it before judges and juries it will be shopwn, as all the others, to be untrue.

I expect though, that we will see more of it as the DNC and Obama are scared to death of Sarah.

I’ve posted this a couple of times - the speech I would write for her:

“As much as I love Alaska, and am committed to the folks up here that elected me - I love America even more. Up here in Alaska, with a new governor that knows the ropes - we’ll be okay.

But I can’t say the same for the folks that I met last year. Folks in Michigan, Iowa, and New York. I know that Alaska’s new governor will be listening to the folks in Alaska. But it is clear that President Obama, and the Democratic House and Senate are NOT listening to the citizens of this great Republic.

I intend to lend my voice to theirs, and, on the eve of this Independence Day, vow to help bring Liberty back to the people of this great country.”
