Obamas First Order: Dont Hurt the Heroin
by
Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.

Obama's agenda; Narco-Nation Building
Hey, guys, dont pick the poppies.
Thats the order from the Obama Administration to the 4,000 Marines presently engaged in Operation Khanjar or Strike of the Sword, an invasion of the Taliban infested Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan.
The Marines of Bravos Company 1st Platoon sleep beside groves of poppies Troops of the 2nd Platoon walk through the fields on strict orders not to swat the heavy opium bulbs. The Afghan farmers and laborers, who are engaged in scraping the resin from the bulbs, smile and wave at the passing soldiers.
The Helmand province is the world's largest cultivator of opium poppies - the crop used to make heroin.

Per the site Obamas First Order: Dont Hurt the Heroin would have been better, the Marines are following lawful orders.
Obama... Ensuring his supply of heroin.
I suppose since his drug dealer friend in Honduras was impeached and evicted from that country Obama finds he has to secure another source of drugs for him and his shady friends.
Controlled substance versus a non-controlled substance? /sarcasm
Informative read. Leaves me scratching my head, as well, as to Barry’s intentions. My last understanding on the Afghan poppy/opium problem was that they were going to destroy/re-seed such fields and then train/re-train the Afghan poppy/opium farmers in how to grow wheat, etc. while propping up Afghanistan’s agriculture market programs. Hmm, not sure now.
Pres. Bush did a great job? Why not change strategy and adapt? There is nothing wrong with a PACE plan.
Senor Sortero will become an even bigger hero in the “Hood”!
Our military needs to be focused on killing the enemy, not plants. I have no problem at all with this.
Apparently you do not understand that the Bush Administration was protecting the "poppy fields" and now the Obama Administration is protecting "heroin cultivation."
Depriving the enemy of their means of generating cash and creating hardship within their communities are a basic part of warfare.
I have the solution...

‘Depriving the enemy of their means of generating cash and creating hardship within their communities are a basic part of warfare.’
Indeed, the Federal Gov’t is doing that to us.
Apparently that's a revenue source for more than just our enemy. Would angering the local population that also grow the flowers that are friendly to us be worth whatever financial harm done to the enemy?
Well, to each his own...Folks in that part of the world know very little about coke and crack....they know all about cracks of course, but not the drug.
“Apparently that’s a revenue source for more than just our enemy. Would angering the local population that also grow the flowers that are friendly to us be worth whatever financial harm done to the enemy? “
There are a lot of folks in California who’d appreciate that sort of consideration!
Another case of US Citizens receiving inferior treatment.
Who is Paul L. Williams, Ph.D. and why is he the only one who knows about this.
The story smells.
A thought crossed my mind on how to eradicate poppy production.....the Department of Agriculture could ruin their business in a couple of years without the Marines.
NAPALM followed by Agents White, Purple and my personal favorite, Orange.
The world is insane.
Strange site.....strange days
Wikipedia is now a legitimate news source? Why don’t you look at what they have to say about Free Republic?
Do you understand Google or Scroogle? It’s really quite easy to confirm stories with Al Gore’s Information Super-Highway.
Yes I did. The article was unavailable for about 10 minutes, probably for a rewrite.
This is b.s.
I didn’t say it was a ‘news’ source, just a link. It is open source, so it could be wrong. Just as anything.
I think I've heard of Google. Don't they do maps or something?
Yes....they do maps.
As long as drug companies still produce, and doctors and hospitals still use morphine, there is a legitimate market for opium poppies, and a lot of it comes from this region of thw world.
We should spray the crops and let the Taliban starve...or we should just leave that region to the goats.
And Do Not Import and Afghans into the USA!
And Do Not Import and Afghans into the USA!
Got any idea what it would cost to de-foliate an entire country?
Screw em’ leave the region....just don;t bring them here.
(And of course that is exactly what they’ll do....bring them all over here, settle them in Iowa or Nashville.,)
Yeah, because shredding the only cash crop in the country will go a long way in helping to get keep the locals on our side. Geezus.
As far as I know this has been a standing order way before Obama.
You are a real genius, aren’t you?
We don’t need the locals not there and certainly not here. What makes you think that we need primitive Afghanis for anything? They can disappear and it won’t make any difference to the USA
If they bring any of them to Missouri, the should drop them off in Skidmore.
They can drop them off on main street in Archie MO.
See how long they last.
Synthetic opiates have completely replaced opiates from poppies in the U.S. None of the drugs used in the U.S. are made from Afghan poppies.
Bring the troops home from Afghanistan. It is not worth another life lost to protect either the government of that miserable failed state, or the government of Barack Obama.
Cool film clip!
Your extreme ignorance and just plain sillyness can be excused because I can only surmise that you are teenaged or a young twenty something. If not, you are a complete and utter moron who needs to learn history - ignoring trouble spots is what got us into this mess in the first place.
Interesting. I know guys who were there and they were told not to mess with the crops becuase it would turn the locals against us.
