Iranians urged to shout "Death to America and Israel", shout instead "Death to Russia and Dictator"

Another eyewitness account, emailed to us from a very close friend.

Made my way down the west side of Laleh Park, large crowd was gathered around a radio listening to Rafi give the sermons, moved down to Keshavarz Blvd, where people had already started to taunt the bassijis who look like teenagers with Darth Vader helmets that was one size too big for them.

The main slogans were “Baradar’e basiji chera Baradr Koshi” (”Brother basiji, why do you kill your brother?”, the speaker after Rafi was urging people to shout “death to America” and “death to Israel” people responded in mass by shouting “death to Russia” and “death to the dictator”, things started getting messy in 16 Azar street, I never knew that you can defuse the effect of tear gas if you hold a cigarette close to your face, who cares about second hand smoke when you are fighting a dictatorship… Anyways, they chased and people ran away, they caught few poor fellows who probably are in hospital now, but overall the fear and terror seems to get less and less effective, unless they decided to bring the big guns out one day, even then I do not think they will able to defeat these people

Looking at Putin’s eyes into his soul in this pic speaks volumes. Quite different than what GWB stated about Pute!
Plus Ay Khamanei looks like a clown in dark drab.

Id really like to find encouragement in this report but somehow I dont think their hatred for us has abated since they took over our embassy. Just because the rats are angry with the snakes doesnt mean they wont eat you alive if they get a chance.

My perspective is that God is allowing these events to transpire in Iran with it’s Russian alliance because the
stage is being set for the Ezekiel Ch. 38-39 scenario to be played out.

Gotta be real careful about pulling stuff from the bible and cramming a headline into it! 99.99% of the time you will be wrong. People have been trying to do this for the last 2000 years. When Constantinople fell what do you think the orthodox church was saying in regards to end time prophesies?

70% of todays Iranians are under 30 and haven't lived during the 1979 Revolution. Of the population then around 10% were active in the Revolution. In other words only around 3% of todays Iranians had anything to do with 1979.

Do they have supporters? Sure they have.

But Iranians as a whole, particularily the societal sections which are now protesting (young, urban, well educated and secular) are very pro-American, as are many of the upper middle class of the older generation (those who were the base of the Shah regime).

Having lived in Iran and having Iranians in my extended family I can positively attest that the meme that anti-Americanism is dominant among them is patently false. And I am not just talking about some exiled monarchists who have no contact to Iran anymore.

Are there nutty anti-Americans? Sure as heck. But are there many pro-Americans? Absolutely.

And regardless of their stance towards US or the West... dislike for the arch-foe Russia (historically the real enemy of Iran for ages) and the repressive mullah regime cannot be underestimated at any rate.

Iranians have a long memory when it comes to history. It was Russia that grabbed Iranian territory in the 18th and 19th century, it was Russia that waged a cruel war against Iran's Constitutionalists at the turn of the century, it was Russia that tried to make North Iran Communist after WW1 and WW2... and it was Russia that througout the Cold War threatened to invade Iran.

When I was in Iran 1978 the fear everyone had was that the Russians are going to make Iran an "Soviet Iranistan".

Yes, I agree. I’m reading David Jeremiah’s “What in the World is Going On?” which directed me to Ezekiel 38-39 last night.

When I’ve read of this Iranian- Russian alliance attacking Israel in the past, I always thought, “It could happen.” Now I think, “It’s about to happen.”

I hope you are right that most Iranians are pro American. I hope they can come to power but I tend to doubt they mullahs can be overthrown. For all the Russians have done to them it will be us who turns their country into a field of glass when they nuke us. It’s not “if” it’s “when”.

I wouldn't say most of the entire population. But most of the middle/upper class. These are the folks demonstrating.

The poor slum dwellers are religious/superstitious and susceptible to regime propaganda. Not all of course... but at a vastly higher rate.

The problem is that for half a century the educated/upper class were calling the shots, and thus Iran was pro-American. After 1979 the mullahs with their poor slummy base have taken over and repress the old elites.

I have also my doubt over the success of a new anti-Mullah Revolution... a Revolution needs arms and funding. The islamists had this 1979. Today there are no gun-rights and no comparable organization. They also have no outside help (thanks Obama!)... very different to the situation then with Carter and the KGB pulling strings to topple the Shah.

BTW I think that Israel needs to destroy the nuke facilities ASAP. It's the only way to prevent a worse scenario for everyone involved.

Just because I pray for one doesn't mean that I negate the other.

No correction to my comment is necessary.
