Dingell Says No Tort Reform in ObamaCare: "Congress Can Only Handle So Much"; Crowd Erupts - Video

Here is amazing video from a Town Hall Event held by Democrat Congressman John Dingell of Michigan, where he was asked if the current Democrat Health Care Bill had a provision for "Tort Reform," speaking of the huge number of frivilous lawsuits against doctors that drive the cost of Health Care up.

Dingell's Response - "The Congress can only handle so much at one time." I kid you not!

The crowd just erupted in groans and laughter when he said that, and then followed with shouts of "Shame! Shame on you!"

He was also asked why Democrats want to install Government Health Care nationally when it has not been proven to work in Massachusetts. He responded with, "I don't know whether it's working in Massachusetts or not." The crowd just went wild again. Dingell then added "in Massachusetts it has not been fully bought into."

The poster of the video at YouTube wrote this about the even which was held August 6, 2009:

He didn't promote the event and held it in a room that held 150 at most. More than 600 people showed up and, as you can see from these videos, Congressman Dingell's constituents are not happy. The front rows were stacked with his supporters BTW.

Wow! If you didn't think Americans are getting fed up with what is going on, this video will change your mind. . . . . . (Watch Video)

"The Congress can only handle so much at one time."

If Congress thinks they can handle healthcare reform, how much more work would be required for tort reform - 5% more??

Methinks that tort reform would be a walk in the park compared to healthcare reform (not to mention that tort refrom should be an integral part of healtcare reform regardless..).

What the congress guys are experiencing country-wide is a dressing down and assertion of authority. The American people are treating them as substandard employees and are taking them to task for it.

These pompous, arrogant laywers are having their leashes jerked by the citizens as a reminder of who they work for.

Tort reform would dry up contributions from rich lawyers, and that means more to these turkeys than the concerns of the citizens. They pretty much have us by the short hairs and to reinforce it, they are resorting to a police state.

BTW, there is simply no other conclusion that one can draw other than they think we are stupid.

The fact that they think they can pull it off means that are Congress people are simpletons.

But they can dump in 300 pages to be filled in later for cap and trade hours before the vote?

What a crock of nonsense
