Hey. I am a 25 year old musician who makes his living (if you can call it that), by teaching guitar lessons at a local music store. I write songs (music and lyrics), sing and play guitar in a punk rock band. We are heavily influenced by the Clash. I have a distrust for the media, as well as both left wing and right wing parties. Fair enough. I share your taste for “The Clash” — they wrote “Red Angel Dragnet” and are a decent punk group. “Red Angel Dragnet” is, of course, the Guardian Angels anthem.

At 25 you really are are too young to be in a “punk band” of any meaningful description, because punk was well-and-truly over five years before your birth. Nothing wrong with that, you was just born 30 years too late. In many ways that works in your favor IMO, as you’ll be listening to The Clash 30 long years after I’m gone.

Perhaps too soon for you to be writing your Opus. Like Mcswan said, don’t let the critics get to you.
