Olbermann marvels at “just how stupid” the opponents of high taxes and Obamacare are

On his Countdown program Thursday, Keith Olbermann demonstrated once again that because of his boiling hatred for anyone whose ideology differs from his own, he is entirely incapable of engaging in linear thought or reasoned debate. In this particular episode, Olbermann designated former Reagan economic advisor Arthur Laffer as the day’s “Worst Person in the World,” disparaging Laffer as “the pusher of the discredited notion that tax cuts for the rich stimulated the economy, and the creator of the farcical Laffer Curve.” The Laffer Curve is a concept which contends that at a given point of increased taxation, business activity will diminish because of the reduced economic incentives that accompany higher taxes, thereby causing the government to receive less tax revenue rather than more. Olbermann is particularly annoyed with Laffer these days, because of the latter’s opposition to the Obama/Democrat plan for government-run health care.

Sneering that Laffer’s name befits his purportedly clownish economic theories, Olbermann contemptuously marveled at “just how stupid” Laffer and “other critics of health care reform … are about this topic.” He then quoted Laffer saying:

“If you like the Post Office and the Department of Motor Vehicles and you think they’re run well, just wait until you see Medicare, Medicaid, and Healthcare done by the government.”

Olbermann then looked directly at the camera and mocked Laffer by addressing these comments to him directly:

“Medicare and Medicaid are already done by the government. They’re government programs. This also just in, Dr. Laffer: Lindburgh has landed safely in Paris.”

I’d like to challenge Olberman to an IQ competition. Loser dies.

Keith Olbermann is just being a typical lefty, desperately trying to justify his (and every leftist's) belief that they are brilliant and anyone who doesn't agree with them is, necessarily, 'stupid'.

This kind of insular self-aggrandizement by leftists is standard fare that we've all seen at least a thousand times. 'liberals = smart, conservatives = stupid'. It doesn't play so well anymore because (a) average Americans are growing tired of being smeared as ' stupid' for rejecting insane leftist polices promulgated by the Obama administration and, (b) Keith Olbermann is distinctly unlikeable and clearly far from the brillant guy he thinks he is and represents.

Olbermann has a relatively small audience that already buys his twaddle - and even that audience is beginning to shrink. The man is a loon - and his show is a bore. His rants are irrelevant - and mostly, unwatched.

Laffer was WRONG to believe that legal plunder destroys the WHOLE LOOT ONLY when it taxes 100 PERCENT of others’ income.

This reasoning is blindsided by the IMPUNITY of legal plunder.
It ignores the inevitable RIVALRY for the loot and, the PSEUDO-INVESTMENT which, as a consequence of that rivalry, the participants in the political processes have to make in order to get the share of the plundered wealth they are aiming at.

Since there is no such thing as a guaranteed profit (TAANSTAFL), this pseudo-investment in the political processes, which is entirely LOST for any real production (since it only aims at already produced wealth) MUST, at equilibrium, be the EQUIVALENT of what it tries to get.

Q. E. D.: Socialism destroys the EQUIVALENT of what it steals, not only PART of it.

GE pays Olbermann $7.5 million a year to promote the party line, support Obama and thereby help get more bailout money and get big in the Carbon Credit business with Cap and Trade.

Olbermann does not have to get ratings. He is not answerable to the market. He is answerable to his ideological and financial masters who will line their pockets at the expense of the taxpayer.
