Great group organized tactic...

In an attempt to keep my cool in these Town Hall Meetings here in Monterey County (Congressman Sam Farr). I came up with this sign and gave it to my husband....who was sitting in the front row......they say laughter is contentious....AND IT MAKES EM MAD....ha ha ha

I'd rather use my "You're a Crooked Bastard & I Don't Trust Your Socialist Arse!" sign.

But Ha Ha is good, too.

Good one.

I attended Tea Parties here in ATL, the first way back on February 27, and then again on April 15. I would describe the crowds as middle-aged productive class. They were as grass-roots as could be.

The town hall crowds I’ve seen in pictures and video from across the nation look the same as the crowds I saw first hand.

If I see someone speak of astroturfing, they immediately lose all credibility with me.

Alinsky rule number 5, I believe. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

I am going to carry a sign on 9/12 in DC that will read, "Don't make us come back here!"

My husband worked out the details to go to D.C. on 9/12/09 and I am excited. I want some good ideas for signs and I was trying to remember the name of the group that had such good signs during the war protests. I thought it was political warrior, but it’s not. FR used to have a link to them, but I can’t find it now. Does anyone remember the group I’m talking about. They had t-shirts and signs.

Backed up with another one -
"We didn't bring guns
. . . this time."

I would like to see a thread that would run here for the next couple of weeks with ideas for signs. My wife is carrying one that says..

So now we know.......
“CHANGE” =
MORE Debt
MORE Taxes
MORE Welfare
MORE Regulation
MORE Government
MORE Wasteful spending
MORE CORRUPTION

Thanks Mr President

Thank!!!

I found some really good President Reagan and Mark Twain quotes that I might use. Even my tag line would work, but I wanted to get as many ideas as I could. I even thought of this bible verse: “A wise man’s heart directs him towards the right, but a foolish mans’ heart directs him towards the left. Ecclesiastes 10:2

wow. I had to go look it up. You’re right. My King James Version reads a little different but with same meaning....’A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.’

Very good.

I’d like to throw this thought out there for comments (and maybe a sign idea will occur):

I’ve heard NO ONE mention the lack of a medical deduction like we used to have before the 1986 tax reform act. Before then, every cent an American paid for medical expenses was tax deductible. In 1986 it was changed and now we can only deduct a certain percentage over our income, which, as everyone knows, unless you’ve had a major medical expense (and I mean MAJOR), is useless for a deductible expense.

It’s a lot easier to pay out of pocket for medical when you know you can at least deduct it on your tax return. I believe losing this deduction has had further removed us from the true costs of our medical care AND has caused our doctors more expense with the paperwork.

The complete pre-1986 medical deduction needs to be reinstated.

I found another good quote from Mark Twain, “No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.”
