This is one race Huckabee could win.

Well this is great. But have the Republicans fielded a candidate yet?

Why Mike Huckabee isn’t looking at this is beyond me.

Sounds like it’s time for Senator Huckabee.

Does the GOP have a strong enough candidate? Lincoln appears vunerable.

The GOP should be able to take advantage of that. [lol, that’s hoping for allot.]

[Please, not Asa.]

Yep, if Huck and Mitt were true patriots they’d be brushing up their senatorial pitches. If.

Huck wants the Big House, or he ain't gonna play.

Exactly!

We now have an open seat in MA which Romney could take if he wanted.

And Lincoln could easily be defeated by Huckabee if he wanted to.

We already have plenty of conservative commentators on Fox News. We DESPERATELY need more conservatives in the Senate ASAP!

Plus he just signed a three year deal with Fox.

Huckabee could shore up his genuinely pathetic conservative credentials if he would win this race and give us two good years in the U.S. Senate.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think it more likely that he'll suck up to the leading RINO (McCain in '08, Romney in '12) to ensure that the most conservative candidate in the race (Sarah Palin) can't win.

In a way, it would be funny because McCain didn't give him the coveted #2 spot and I don't think Romney will either. But I really don't think our country can stand another RINO vs. far left rematch.

I think that there is a state rep. from NW Arkansas that is looking to run. He’s young, but I think he might have a chance. I don’t know who else, but next year will be a GREAT opportunity for the GOP to take Lincoln’s seat. She is reeling, and Arkansans went 60-40 for McCain, don’t forget. Heck, maybe I ought to run.

It's Massachusetts dude. They will elect an occasional Republican as governor because a governor p*sses in their own water supply. But they'll never elect a Republican to the U.S. Senate because senators get to p*ss in the nation's water supply.

The last Republican to serve as a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts was even more of a RINO than Mitt Romney. Can you name him?

This is one race Huckabee could win.

Unless you are from Arkansas, you don't understand that Huckabee couldn't win an election even if he was running for dog catcher.

That would be Edward Brooke, he of Baba Wawa's paramour fame.

NWA State Senator Kim Hendren (R) has announced he would challenge Lincoln, but he is 71.

Sen. Brooke.

I’m no dummy when it comes to politics and of course I know MA is among the bluest of blue states. Romney has won statewide office in MA before and could do so again.

It’s hard to believe, but RR actually carried the state twice.

I am not high on drugs or drunk with delusions, but I do think if the stars were aligned properly we could take back some of these seats in the northeast. Democrats capture red state senate seats all the time—like Lincoln in Ark.

Of course I don’t expect MA to elect a Jesse Helms type Republican but Mitt Romney or someone like him would be a tremendous improvement over what they’ve had for the last several decades.

RR carried Massachusetts the first time only because there was a RINO in the race (John Anderson) where the Massholes could express their disappointment with Jimmy Carter without actually voting for a Republican. He carried it the second time because RR did such a great job and it was a nationwide landslide. Hell, RR almost carried Minnesota that year in a 50 state sweep against the highly popular favorite son Walter Mondale who had never lost an election there.

You can look it up. A shift of less than 3000 votes would have given Ronald Reagan a 50 state sweep.

My only point is this: The Democrats appear to be in big trouble even in the Northeast where NY Gov. Patterson is in deep caca, Chris Dodd looks very vulnerable in CT and even Barney Fwank received a rowdy town hall meeting at home in MA. If the GOP recruited some solid candidates for a change, they might be able to take back some these offices. Problem is they rarely give these libs a real run for their money. I think next year there could be a real upheaval.

Remember 1994, a number of powerful Democrat congressmen were defeated including committee chairmen representing supposedly safe seats. Even House Speaker Tom Foley was defeated.

The last Republican elected to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts was Edward Brooke, a black liberal Republican, elected in 1966 and re-elected in 1972. Lost in 1978 to Paul Tsongas.
