Tennessee Jury Lets Torturer-Murderer-Rapist Live, to Prey on Others August 28, 12:24

Some juries are indulgent towards even the most vicious and plainly-guilty criminals. A Nashville jury just let a nightmarishly-evil torturer-murderer-rapist, Letalvis Cobbins, escape the death penalty in the rapes, torture, mutilation, and murders of Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian. Now, he can spend the rest of his life raping and preying on vulnerable prison inmates, like first-time offenders.

The jurors who blocked the death penalty may have mistakenly believed that they were sophisticated and progressive by rejecting the death penalty, but in truth, they were being cruel, since, as it says in Midrash, he who is kind to the cruel is cruel to the kind. Scholars like Ernest Van Den Haag have concluded that the death penalty actually saves lives by deterring murders. (A recent Emory University study says that each execution deters approximately 18 murders). When I was a young liberal, I used to oppose the death penalty, in part because I was arrogant and it made me feel morally superior to those who support it based on “gut instinct.” But “gut instincts,” such as indignation, are important guides to what is right and wrong. As the great Athenian lawgiver Solon noted, true justice will not be achieved until those who have not been victimized by crime are just as indignant as those who have been.

The horrifying facts of the case are below; if you are squeamish, don’t read further. I describe them in order to explain why it is an insult to justice to give a torturer-rapist-murderer like Letalvis Cobbins the same sentence that many ordinary murderers receive:

Perhaps these juries are afraid of retaliation. They are seen by the criminal, their families, their friends, fellow gangbangers. I am sure that if they could, the juries would suggest harsher punishment. However, since they are opnely in the court, stared at for hours, I am sure that they live in fear during these trials that if they were to suggest something harsh, then they would get attacked themselves.

Frankly we need to figure out a way to telecommute for jury participants.

This was clearly a hate crime that wasn't prosecuted as such. Even with the crime as heinous as it was, the majority black jury didn't wish to execute one of their own. It was a compromise in the reverse racist and liberal Democrat Nashville. Anything of a lesser punishment would had been too obvious. The average black wishes us dead. There are more examples of this daily.

For raping and torturing a white girl, this guy will be a hero in prison to other black inmates.

That's a pretty unfair statement as well stupid thing to say. You really think other black inmates think raping, torturing, dismembering and brutally killing a white women is cool ? True a handful might, but a hero welcome?

Most if not all the black inmates are there in prison for some serious offenses, but very few have committed crimes of this nature.

They will consider this POS bat crazy and dangerous and will have nothing to do with him. He's a lifer and has nothing to lose by playing by the rules and the other imates want to get out in one piece at some point.

This guy will likely be killed in prison. Not even convicted felons would feel comfortable with this monster; I expect a brief session with a sharp toothbrush is in his immediate future, and it won’t be used to clean his teeth.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Separate Palm Beach County juries have convicted two men in the gang rape and assault of a mother and her son during a home invasion two years ago.

She recounted how she prayed for her life and cried in pain as she was repeatedly raped and her son beaten by 10 masked, gun-toting teens. Then she testified about being forced to perform oral sex on her son. The victims were then doused with chemicals in an attempt to clean the crime scene.

If the roles were reversed and four whites had done this to a black couple Eric Holder type Feds and the local Knoxville prosecutors would have been on it in two seconds flat calling for hate crime prosecutions

Here's the worst part. This guy is now in Nashville at a state intake facility where he will be evaluated to determine which facility he is placed in. That evaluation means this. If he behaves there for 60-90 days he may get put in a less secure prison facility than maximum. No I'm not kidding. It seems our states Department of Corrections does not take the crime of the criminal into consideration as to where they place them. It all depends on how their so called evaluation in that 60-90 days goes.

Yep, and he will continue to find more white victims when he is in prison:

OK, thanks. I didn’t recognize the name of the town, but this has been all over the news here in Florida. There are some real animals in those places and they prey on immigrants - and tourists.

Their whole strategy is to go after somebody they consider weak. We are breeding monsters in some of these neighborhoods.

Until the unemployment rate within the black community exceeds 50%, a black American who is employed is still more average than one who is unemployed. I do not think the unemployed plus the unemployable exceeds 50% yet.
