In response to the Left-driven boycott of Whole Foods Markets over CEO John Mackey's Washington Post oped opposing the ObamaCare bill, the national Tea Party Coalition is scheduling a "buycott" encouraging members to shop Whole Foods on September 1st.

"...If you don’t have a Whole Foods in your area, don’t worry about it. If you do, please ping your FRiends."

The Whole Foods near me is right next to my favorite pizza place. I've never shopped there strictly because of their _reputation_ for catering to the loonie-tunes (Commie-left tree-huggers, et.al.).

I will make it a point, however, to shop there for the very first time on Tuesday, 9/1/09. When I go through the check out line I will make it a point to let them know WHY I am shopping there for the first time, and if Whole Foods succumbs to the leftist's pressure to get rid of their CEO John Mackey, because of his WSJ op-ed opposing the ObamaCare bill, it will be my LAST time shopping there.

I will also be notifying all the patriots I know about this up-coming "buy-out".

As an aside - the first buy-out I participated in was the huge Florida orange juice buy-out we held here back in the 90's when the moon-bat leftists tried to get Florida Orange Juice to stop allowing Rush Limbaugh to be their spokesman or advertising on his show. We all brought coolers to put the fresh squeezed orange juice in and cleaned out the whole orange grove's supply of juice - not leaving one bottle. What we couldn't use personally, we donated to nursing homes, food pantrys, and the like. bttt

"Whole Foods is more an attraction for “foodies” than hippies. A hundred brands of Olive Oil! Six kinds of kale! The produce section, the cheeses."

I agree, but fairly or unfairly, they have a reputation for catering to the "watermelon" (green on the outside; red on the inside) crowd.

It’s a supermarket that sells very high quality produce and meat, fish. We have several here in NYC. There’s one in New Orleans, uptown, that is literally the only place to get decent food. I don’t know how many different cities it’s in, but I imagine it’s nationwide.

It’s 40 miles north, and our Town Hall is that evening, but maybe I can squeeze it in.

Someone suggested buying a Whole Foods Gift Card, which can be done online and given to your favorite liberal for Christmas; or people could spend it on themselves later.

I'm just posting the info for the benefit of everyone who may read this thread.

Whole Foods gift card online ordering site at post 45. Get one to use later, or as a gift!

Cool. And when you order a gift card, there’s a message field for you to “personalize” the card if you want to. Plenty of space to write, “Stop Obamacare now” — and much more.

Thanks Albion. I’m in and will see how many hypocrite lefties are there, hah.

I have a weakness for the olive bar and I do find specials. One must be careful, though, the tab can run up:-)

I like it all, but particularly the food bar (great place for lunch or dinner), the olive bar and the natural cosmetics.

Hot food bar (a few cold items): I’m there!!
Their own brand of body lotion, etc., is quite reasonable also.

I generally shop at a Whole Foods which is more than an hour away...but I think I'll buy a gift certificate on Sept 1. http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/giftcards/index.php

I know some foodies, and this would be a good Christmas gift.

Wow, this is so amazing. One of the most liberal people I know is a manager at Whole Foods. I will definitely plan on shopping there on September 1st and I’ll tell the inevitable hippie/lib who checks me out why.

Whole Foods, not “health foods.” Best selection of cheese I have ever come across, period.

If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.

I know there are some Whole Foods in MI, we stopped in at the one in Rochester last Labor Day...we would have stayed for an hour or two but the power went out. Bad luck!

Re: “Oh no, I’m buying their great Grilled Bacon Wrapped Chicken, their BBQ’d Baby Back Ribs, the fresh New England Clam Chowder and the Breakfast Pizza.

If you think Whole Foods is health food, you ain’t been to Whole Foods!”

Agree; it’s not all earth shoe wearing wheatgrass eating silliness at Whole Foods. They have some of the best mac and cheese at their deli counter here in L.A. — made with four different cheeses.
