RNC making prank phone calls to my house

Posted on 08/30/2009 9:12:41 AM PDT by Leo58

I made the mistake of making a contribution to the RNC a couple of years ago. They called early one Sunday morning after I had just learned that a friend had passed away. I blessed out the caller and told them to never call my house again. Since then I get calls from them on every day of the week and all hours of the day and night. When I pick up the phone there is a long silence and then they hang up.

Don't know why you made that degrading remark about Gov Palin but its probably not the RNC.

I asked them not to call me two years ago, and only received one more call. I reminded them and never again have they called. This is all premised that your story is true as you told it.

Sounds more like RAT childish pranks to me. However there is a website that allows you to enter your phone number and any Caller ID number and name you want. It will then dial you with that Caller ID. I entered 111-222-3333 and ‘Mickey Mouse’ and within a few seconds got a call with that data. The website was aparently created to prove that the Caller ID system is easily manipulated.

I googled the phone number too....LOTS of folks are receiving calls like this.....it MIGHT be the result of the shitlist the WH developed from the emails re “fishy” healthcare stuff at flag@whitehouse.....it is fairly easy to find a phone number in connection with an email and/or IP/web address

I DOUBT that the RNC is harrassing previous donors or registered republicans - in fact I refuse to believe it, despite what most R’s have shown themselves to be....

How do you know for sure it is the RNC? There are a lot of groups out there trying to make it look bad...and I think this could be a ruse. Check it out first. WHY would the RNC do that right now? It doesn’t make sense.

Excuse me. You expected them to know you had just received word a friend had died? As for not voting Republican that is your privilege but I would have to wonder what you are doing on FR if you wouldn't vote for Sarah Palin(or some other conservative)no matter what party affiliation they run under. You sound much like a troll trying to stir up animosity for the RNC, and they don't really need any help. they do fine on their own. Get an answering machine, screen your calls, then you will never have to talk to them again. Plus try switching over to DU, they don't vote for Conservatives either(basing that on your Sarah Palin remark).

I was feeling for you up to this point. Angry with homosexual tendencies is no way to go through life.

Sure, get a court ordered injunction, start with the sheriff.

Dont be surprised if you find out it is not really the RNC. These are Democratic type harassments you are describing.

Could possibly be kids.

Most certainly Not authorised by the RNC.

Nah, that's not the RNC.

It's me. It's fun. I'll continue.

I doubt strongly that the RNC is calling you in the middle of the night. Believe me, they don’t hire staff who will be working in the small hours of the morning. What would be the point? How would they gain enough contributions with 3 a.m. calls to justify anyone’s salary? It’s not even legal to call after 9 p.m, AFAIK. If someone is really calling you at 3 a.m. it’s not them.

Have you tried using the *69 function on your phone to find out what the calling number was?

“You sound much like a troll trying to stir up animosity for the RNC”

I agree. This does NOT pass the smell test, as they say.

Smells more like a troll to me — the DU type who call in to Rush claiming they have been “lifelong Republicans” but now they wouldn’t vote Republican because of one reason or the other.

His entire claim that the RNC is calling him day and night, then nobody is on the other end of hte line is completely bogus.

Democrat moles took over the California Republican Party about ten years ago.

It's likely that Democrat moles now run the RNC. Tell the DNC to knock it off, tain't funny.

>>>Sunday solicitation calls are downright intolerable.

Solicitation calls andy day, any time are intolerable as far as I’m concerned. Any number on caller ID I don’t recognize, or is “out of area”, “unavailable” or “private” goes straight to voice mail.

We get multiple calls from this number everyday. They always hang up. This time I answered and told them NOT to call here again and then I had the pleasure of hanging up on them! Let’s see what happens now.

All you had to do was call them

*67-1-202-747-7340

and they answered

“Republican National Committee”.

But why they call, who knows?

We receive frequent calls from this number asking for my mother in-law who passed away in 2006. Since they won’t stop calling, we set up an advance call forward with our VIOP to automatically forward any calls from this number back to this number. Take that you inconsiderate basterds!

I just got a call from same number. I am wondering, are the rest of you republicans? Active republicans? It could be some automated caller malfunctioning.

I get many calls from this number as well, it is the national republican committee. I used to donate until they became harassing , then I said don’t bother me any more and they call looking for my husband, when I answer they hang up.
Caller ID: Washington DC
Greg - 29 Aug 2009

It’s Saturday morning and we just got another phone call. They’ve called every day since the 25th. I just added them to the blocking list. Nobody’s there, and we just get a hangup singnal. I just called them and their message says that they are the College Republicans. IIRC, they called a few weeks ago asking for my wife. I told them that she isn’t registered to vote because she isn’t even an American citizen. (That may not stop Democrats from registering her, but on our principles we won’t do that.) I left a scathing message on their answering machine. What kind of political strategy entails irritating your voting base? No wonder the Dummycraps have taken over.
