Bipartisan and Allied outrage!

Poles, Czechs: US missile defense shift a betrayal By Vanessa Gera Associated PressSep 18,2009

WARSAW, Poland – Poles and Czechs voiced deep concern Friday at President Barack Obama's decision to scrap a Bush-era missile defense shield planned for their countries.

"Betrayal! The U.S. sold us to Russia and stabbed us in the back," the Polish tabloid Fakt declared on its front page.

Polish President Lech Kaczynski said he was concerned that Obama's new strategy leaves Poland in a dangerous "gray zone" between Western Europe and the old Soviet sphere.

The Bush administration's plan would have been "a major step in preventing various disturbing trends in our region of the world," Kaczynski said in a guest editorial in the daily Fakt and also carried on his presidential Web site.

An editorial in Hospodarske Novine, a respected pro-business Czech newspaper, said: "an ally we rely on has betrayed us, and exchanged us for its own, better relations with Russia, of which we are rightly afraid." The move has raised fears in the two nations they are being marginalized by Washington even as a resurgent Russia leaves them longing for added American protection.

"No Radar. Russia won," the largest Czech daily, Mlada Fronta Dnes, declared in a front-page headline.

Bipartisan opposition in U.S. Senate

Remember how then candidate Obama said we need not fear his foreign policy views because he had people like Indiana Senator Dick Lugar by his side? Here's what Sen. Lugar had to say about this decision:

Lugar isn’t going to do more than issue a few vague generalities. He was co-opted by the crime families of Chicago long ago.

I’m convinced this guy playing the role of POTUS, and his entire cast of Oinkers are taking us to their stinking mudhole for a roll.

I’m also convinced that what we see is only the tip of the iceberg.

Haven’t read much about arms and ammunition sales recently, but I’m still looking for ammo, and still ready to buy more as it’s a good idea to stay current with the weapons at hand.

I thought these missles had nothing to do with Russia; they were for protection against Iran.

Throwing Poland under the bus is awful.

Obama has stepped in it yet again.

I’d like to see Citizen Palin weigh in on this.

And where’s Brzezinski in all this? I thought that Polish puppeteer was pulling Obama’s strings.

"I thought these missles had nothing to do with Russia; they were for protection against Iran."

This would be our benefit. For Poles and Czechs the benefit would be having a vital US installation on their soil, because this would guarantee the US commitment to keeping these countries our of Russia's sphere influence. And this was precisely the reason for the Russian tantrum about the shield.

If there are any Eastern Europeans fighting as part of the “coaliton of the willing” they should save the lives of their brave men and pull them now. And cancel US base rights, logistics support, and overflight rights, too.

And next time the USA needs a “coalition of the willing” fo’ks will realize why it’s bad policy to screw an ally, even if you can’t see any immeidate use they have to you.
