Let me say this clearly so there are no misunderstandings: some of the protests against President Obama are howls of rage at the fact that we have an African-American head of state. I'm sick of all the code words used when this subject comes up, so be assured that I am saying exactly what I mean. Oh, and in response to the inevitable complaints that I am playing the race card—race isn't a political parlor game. It is a powerful fault line in a nation that bears the scars of slavery, a civil war, Jim Crow, a mind-numbing number of assassinations, and too many riots to count. It is naive and disingenuous to say otherwise.
So when Idaho gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell jokes about hunting the president or South Carolina GOP activist Rusty DePass calls an escaped gorilla one of Michelle Obama's ancestors, it's racist. Which, in case of confusion, is the "ideology that all members of each racial group possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group." (That's from the Oxford English Dictionary, but leave the Brits out of this.) When "Tea Party" leader Mark Williams ap-pears on CNN and speaks of "working-class people" taking "their" country back from a lawfully elected president, he is not just protesting Obama's politics; he is griping over the fact that this country's most powerful positions are no longer just for white men. No, I do not believe that everyone who disagrees with Obama is racist. But racists do exist in this country, and they don't like having a black president.

Wouldn’t a more effective response be to laugh at them and ignore them? The less publicity they get the better.

Let us point out:
1. During the campaign it was the media that raised the question if Obama was ‘black enough’ because he is half-white. Much was made by the media if he was ‘genuine enough’ to represent blacks, because he had a white mom, and his life was hardly one that had been ‘down for the struggle’.
2. He is not just African-American. He’s half-white. You conveniently ignore this fact NOW when you want to play the race card.
3. We personally don’t give two poops what color he is. You libs are the ones obssessed with a person’s race, gender, sexual preferance, age - however you can look at someone and in your mind categorize and classify them. We see a guy who’s trying to take the country into socialism faster than you can say “Uncle Stalin” and that’s what we care about stopping.
I've got no problem with a black president.
What I can't stand is having a Red president.

If Obama had a political posture that agreed with mine, I’d be doing cartwheels for joy. The only good thing to come out of the 2008 election cycle is that the nation can see that in a country that espouses the ideals of equality of opportunity that we do- you don’t have to be an Old White Guy to be the President of the United States.
Maybe that will lead to an asian or a hispanic or a black or a female Ronald Reagan.
Fine with me. All that matters is what you do after you take the oath of office.
Caveat. Newsweek is owned by the Washington Post. The Washington Post and Newsweek are famous for hiring minorities who refuse, despite evidence that it is harmful, to stop scratching so their scabs can finally heal. If every single white person in the United States were to suddenly disappear tomorrow, they would STILL be writing hand-wringers about racism. They have to play the race card because 1) it is the only card they have and 2) their ideas and philosophy are indefensible.
“Racism” is a Left Wing code word for “we’re out of logical arguments.”
The question someone in the supplicant White House Press Corps needs to ask is: “Mr. President, what are the ways in which citizens who oppose your policies or your leadership may dissent and NOT be susceptible to disingenuous criticism that they are racist?”

Since Obama is 50% Caucasian, 35% Arab, and 15% black; it’s easy to ridicule.

And that’s what it’s all about - values and culture not race. Believe me if Thomas Sowell was president, the tables and vitriol would be completely turned around. Only they would be much nastier.

Some? Well, yes. That’s a rather low threshold. Could be .0000000001% of the protestors, and it’d still be “some”. I’m sure “some” of the activism on behalf of Democratic policies are guided by racism as well. Is it enough to merit commentary by Newsweek in either case? Almost certainly not. At least so long as the racist elements are hidden and secret, when they aren’t from minority groups to whom no one listens (if White Power America objects to Obama’s presidency, we need not report on it any more than we wonder why).

I wondered about that myself. Why wasn’t the baby black, hispanic, or whatever? They could say that the U.S. is majority white, but there goes a whole lot of liberals’ complaints about fair media representation right out the window.
Point out the obvious. Those opposed to Obama almost never even mention race, but those who support Obama talk about it frequently. Just using Occam’s razor, it would seem obvious who has “race on the brain”.
Second, Democrats have long been obsessed with race. Theirs was the party that supported slavery, and Jim Crow laws, and segregation, etc. Which they usually try to explain away, by saying that the southern racist Democrats all became Republicans. NOT TRUE. Out of two dozen or more prominent segregationist Democrats, only ONE, Strom Thurmond, ever became a Republican. The rest remained Democrats until they died or retired.
Third, point out *why* Democrats are so obsessed with race. It is because they are also obsessed with thinking themselves as elites, and superior to other Americans. Since this is obviously false, they actively patronize those to whom they think they can feel superior.
As evidence of this, Democrats *always* insist that Republican presidents are feeble-minded, retarded, senile, and defective. They did it to Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, H.W. Bush, and W. Bush.
It should also be pointed out to them that if this is the case, then Democrats must be terribly *inferior*, to have been repeatedly beaten by such men.
(And then Democrats usually launch into conspiracy theories about how the Republican had to cheat to win.)
But back to race. Is there any doubt that the Democrats of the congressional black caucus are race obsessed? They are often blunt that their constituency are *black* Americans, not *all* Americans. And when a black politician is caught doing something illegal, aren’t they first to complain that the corrupt politician is being “persecuted” for their race?
And seriously. Jimmy Carter, the anti-Semite, complaining about racism?
The end result of this obsession with race is that the Democrat party is still doing what it has always done: trying to keep the blacks in America down. It has tried to make and keep them ignorant with patronizing and foolish school instruction. It has tried to make and keep them dependent on public welfare. It strongly advocates that blacks use birth control, and encourages them to have abortions instead of children.
If blacks refuse to be the slaves of Democrats, then the Democrats want them gone or dead. The Democrat Klansmen haven’t changed one bit. Today they are just more underhanded about it.
After reading here the other day that only 29% of Oklahoma high school students can name the president of the U.S., I have to wonder how many Americans know anything about the above mentioned issues.
That should read “can name the first president of the U.S.”
