I know it is a bit different to talk about talk show bumper music, but what are your top 3 bumper music tracks used on the Boortz show and Limbaugh's show?
Personally, I think Boortz has slightly better music than Limbaugh, though Limbaugh does pretty good, too.
My favorites for Boortz are his main theme (Heart of Rock and Roll), Good Thing, and Cantaloop. There's also this one song played on Boortz yesterday going into the first half hour break that I don't know the title of- there were no vocals, but it sounded like something from the 80s with brass, bass, and synthesizer. Anyone know what this one is?
For Limbaugh I'll go with his main theme (My City was Gone), One Night in Bangkok, but I can't come up with a third.
What are your top 3 for each show?
He said once that if he does not know the tune, his partial hearing makes the song sound awful. If he knows the tune, his brain fills in the gaps.
He also likes music with good bass lines, hence the Pretenders' Ohio.
Stupid girl. 99 luft ballons. (even though it was anti-reagan)
I think the song you are about for Boortz is Send Money Guns and Lawyers.
Rush has also been using “The Spirit of Radio” by..Rush on occasion lately.
John Batchelor has the best bumper music. Shortly before the conclusion of his Sunday evening show on KFI, at 640 kcs on the AM band in Los Angeles, he plays “Midnight, the Stars, and You” by Ray Noble & His Orchestra, with Al Bowlly doing vocals, from 1932.
Its “Send lawyers, guns and money”.By Warren Zevon.
