THIS IS A STORY ABOUT LIBERAL GRASSROOTS FUNDRAISING. THE CONSERVATIVE RESPONSE FOLLOWS.
September 30 is the end of the fundraising quarter for federal candidates and, of course, everyone wants to report healthy numbers. To this end campaigns often cite the filing deadline in an attempt to motivate supporters to give one more time or give for the first time. This time they aren't alone. Artur Davis is also using the Sept. 30 deadline to encourage contributions even though he's running for Governor in 2010, not Congress.
It's a smart move that reminds supporters time is passing and takes advantage of end end of quarter "bandwagon" effect fairly prevalent in the online political community. ...

As you may know, candidates for Congress (NOV 2010 election) are required to publicly report their total NUMBER of donors (and $$ total) as of September 30, 2009. A good report, with maybe 1000 donors, allows momentum to build and facilitates fundraising for the next quarter (October-Dec.). A POOR REPORT does the opposite!
With that in mind, this is the week for small donors to step up to the plate (9/30 is a week away). We are recommending donations of $20.09 for Team 2009! Or as an alternative, consider a donation of $10.10 for Victory in 10.
1. Find one or several conservative candidates for Congress that is worthy of our support. It is our opinion that it is best to focus on candidates that have a legitimate chance to win. If he/she is facing a primary, then the urgency is even greater. Be sure your online donation or check reaches them by 9/30, so that it counts for the 9/30 REPORT.
2. Notify your e-mail list or ping list to do the same by forwarding this notice (with your revisions).
3. Ask another family member to do the same. Each individual donor counts!
I have started off the postings below with candidates in NY/New England. New York is still being worked on

campaign ping!
at this point, post candidate contact information only,
save evaluation until later in the thread.
Ideally, we would have 4 to 6 threads for different regions of the country, but we’ll see what the response is.
*BUMP*
BTTT
I’ll see if I have anyone to add for the region.
VERY useful information bump!
I would add
Mayor Tom Reed the US house candidate in NY-29
and
Randy Altschuler US house candidate in NY-01
Those 2 races don’t seem to be on the frontburner but they could develop especially NY-29.
I was hoping there was a candidate in NY-13, there is one, an ex-Gloomberg aide, so pass.
Forgot to ping you.
I hope people have noticed.
