Posted on 10/02/2009 7:39:14 PM PDT by Federalist Patriot

Here is video of Karl Rove absolutely schooling Juan Williams (sitting in for Bill O'Reilly) when Williams made the mistake tonight of accusing President Bush and his administration of "doing nothing" to reign in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to avoid a Housing Meltdown. That's all it took.

Rove proceeded to lay out the facts that the Bush Administration tried to get legislation to regulate the mortgage lenders, but were blocked by Democrats, including then Senator Barack Obama. . . . (VIDEO)

We need more of this type of standing up and telling it like it is. Karl was great tonight, too bad Juan cut to a commercial.

I saw it and you have to love Karl Rove. He is a very bright guy.

GWB was lucky to have had a friend and man of this caliber.

Williams is okay but saying the Bush administration did nothing about Fannie and Freddie is foolish and way over the top. Even Juan McCain has been running around waving the red flag about Fannie and Freddie for at least three years. Williams needs to read up a little on this subject. He can start by reading up on Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd. Both of those clowns should be in prison right now for political malpractice.

I hate it when they talk over each other...even worse when Karl is using numbers and Juan shouts at him to distract the issue...IMHO

I do enjoy watching Karl Rove school the Libs. He has great mastery of the political playbook, and amazing recall of the facts.
Of course, Juan wasn’t ‘educated’, merely ‘schooled’. He’s still a libtard.

...He cleaned Juan’s clock, it was AWESOME!...

You are right, he did and then el stupido Juan came back and asked the exact same question about how if the Pubs saw it, why didn’t they do anything. Rove just laughed and tried to explain it again.

Sadly it is not just liberals who act like pinheads with regard to the bush adminstration.

Bush rocked and congress was wretched through and through.

But how much longer do we have to pretend bush wasn’t really conservative?

It’s still all about shouting down bush supporters.

“I have never, ever seen Rove so thoroughly pissed off.. I think people just dissed Bush one time too many and he saw red...”

But he didn’t start screaming or trying to sidestep it. He pointed out events, actions, dates, and people involved of what they tried to accomplish and what was done to block their attempts.

He beat Juan on this issue like a red headed stepchild.

Williams is okay...

Bull! Juan is a shill for blacks. If ZERO were caught on tape having sex with a five year old boy, Juan would backup ZERO's behavior screaming "that video was taken out of context!"

I just think that Rove is not that good of a debater. He certainly explained that Bush was stopped by the fillabuster but then Juan comes back with the same question as if Rove hadn't answered the question which is a tactic in debating to keep the debate flowing as if the opponent did not answer the question. Rove immediately should have caught this tactic and turned the debate on Juan by asking him why Obama voted to block the investigation on Fannie and Freddie and perhaps there should be an investigation into Obama actions.

Rove is always on the defense and not a very good offense debater.

he did okay but he continually let Juan say that “Bush did nothing”....I wish conservatives would start saying out LOUD that the rats controlled the House for 2 yrs before the planned “crisis/crash”....and it can’t be said enough that zero and dodd took big bucks to keep the feds away from Fannie and Freddie....

Juan Williams talks a lot, but says little. He’s in over his head intellectually. He’s missing the top ten floors of a thirty story building.

Except that Rove already explained why Obama voted against it, it was because F&F were dropping campaign donations on him. There is nothing left to argue. Williams goes for the repeat because he has no rebuttal.

TARP and the Amnesty Bill.

President Bush wasn't very conservative, but he was a helluva lot better than Kerry.

We need a conservative party. We need Duncan Hunter.

"We need more of this type of standing up and telling it like it is. Karl was great tonight, too bad Juan cut to a commercial."

Yeah, but where was the "standing up and telling it like it is" during the last 4 years of the Bush Administration?

They were MIA, to say the least.

Juan has his good points and I think he is a decent guy. On Hannity, when the topic was Polanski, Juan said to the woman next to him that she’d have to bail him out of jail, ‘cause I’d kill his ass.’ Everyone on the set was in agreement.

Also, since Juan is more liberal, it is good when he tries for balance. He does not come off strident as Laura Ingraham sometimes does.

Thank goodness they don’t put Colmes on. I’d have to put in earplugs. ‘Bush...Bush...’ The man can’t even debate. All he does is shout.

Right, Juan used the repeat as a filler,”debate tatic” and Rove should have recognized it and turn the dynamics of the debate in an offense approach, by asking Juan why Obama felt the need to block the investigation.

Bush spent half of the TARP money

Bush required the TARP money to be paid back

Bush required the TARP money to be paid back with interest

Much of the TARP money was not taken and/or has been paid pack already

NONE of that is true in TARP 2 by Obama. The refusal to acknowlege these key conservative principals does huge political damage to the viability of conservatism.

There is no harm in acknowledging this and asking for more conservative actions.

But rather than do this, faux conservatives pretend that Obama = Bush as a way of currying false favor with Independents.

Those independents are largely misinformed by the silence of faux conservatives.

I completely disagree with that tactic.
