Talk about killing two birds with one stone. As Congressional Republicans prepare to introduce a bill to calling for Charles Rangel to step down from his position as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee saying his ethics problems make him the poster boy for institutional arrogance, the Democrats are looking to push him out totally and have Governor Paterson run for Rangel's seat in 2010.
CBS News in New York reported on the political scheme today.

“But I was thinking of a plan
To dye my whiskers green,
And then to use so large a fan
That they could not be seen....
From Governor to Democrat lackey in one easy step.
He belongs in JAIL for life, All Assets seized.
The only thing that will happen to Rangel is that he will have his a$$ powdered and pampered, probably by Pelosi.
Rangel will die in office, instead of in prison.
seems like a lose/lose proposition to me. do they really think the blind guy will fall for this?
The dems are gonna need a bigger bus...
I think it's a very smart move, IMHO.
"Carter, author of the "dump Rangel" resolution, said keeping Rangel in his position will be a headache for Democrats and will infuriate voters in next year's midterm elections."
Carter's thinking for the rats too much. If I were John Boehnor, the House Minority Leader, I'd tell Carter to withdraw his resolution. We want the rats to keep their headaches. The NYGOP doesn't want to run against Cuomo without Cuomo first being bloodied in a primary.
what was that scandal that kept cuomo out the last election? I recall he was connected to the clinton administration.
I don't recall any big scandal. IIRC, he made some easy money working for an investment firm or real estate developer. IIRC, his main offence was that he wanted to challenge Carl McCall, who lost to Pataki. The black rats were highly offended. He was boss for Housing and Urban Development under the bent one.
ROTFLOL
They just get dumber.
