A 10-minute video showing the impact of bullets on various targets at 1 million frames per second. It was made by German engineer Werner Mehl who created the PVM-21 infrared chronograph, in many respects the most sophisticated ballistic speed-measuring system.

The lesson is, if you want to stop a bad guy who’s standing in the open, go soft.

If you want to stop a bad guy who’s behind something, go hard.

If you want to stop multiple bad buys hiding behind something, use .50 cal.

Fun video, but I guess I am too much of an engineering geek. I wanted details about caliber, target material and impact velocity.

The shotgun blasts at the end were also pretty cool.

That cinched it, I must go to the range this week with a couple hundred rounds of 30 cal carbine and 9mm ... new mags to check out the feed reliability.
