Could it be an ad on the page?
If you get a chance, please stop by the FReepathon thread and give it a bump. If you havent donated something yet, please give it some thought...
Thanks!

The ads change with each refreshing of the page, don’t they? [puzzled] It will start to load the page, then it redirects to the message—I’ve tried 4 or 5 times, not sure what is going on. Let me go try again—

That kinda scares me...I’m not a big risk taker, and I’ve had viruses kill my hard drive before, so I’m not sure what to do, just wait a bit I guess!

Does AVG have a Configuration function lets you set your security level. Perhaps a Parental setting?
To: ButThreeLeftsDo
Been there, done that already, but didn’t get a t-shirt, LOL! :-)
Praying that each and every member of FR donates at least 1 dollar—that would be $300K easy! :-)

I think AVG is trying to sell more subscriptions again that is after all why they give you the free version and then extol how much more you get if you upgrade. I got the same thing when checking my Yahoo mailbox. just went to drudge no warning.

I’m not getting this warning from AVG on the safesearch feature.
I am running noscript, which turns off all the javascript, and AdblockPlus, which turns off all the ads, so if there is an infected ad, it wouldn’t turn up.

I splurged and bought Norton Anti-Virus for my new laptop putter

It was popping up for me tonight on our regular pc, but not on the laptop. Why, don't know, but at least you are not alone.
Our PC has been acting strange though lately. Google sends us to strange and far away places, and it has been running extra slow. I just upgraded Foxfire today, maybe that has to do with it. Time to run it through the cleaner and sweep all the corners of the hard drive again.

I have come to the conclusion that this AVG 'warning' is, in fact, an advertisement packaged as a warning. It appears on many Yahoo rotater ads.
I like AVG but this is kinda dirty pool, in my book.

My advice, spend a few bucks and get Eset Nod 32 anti-virus, forget about Norton, McAfee and the rest. You get what you pay for.

I had this AVG warning on a sports site I never had a problem with before. AVG full version. I just renewed but it may just be a coincidental glitch from their most recent update.
Norton is bloatware.

I downloaded the updated 2011 free AVG program yesterday. Had no problem opening sites last night and all day today with Firefox, however when I went to post a news item on facebook, fb blocked it saying there was spam attached. I made sure all add-ons were disabled and got the same message so figured the only thing that changed was the new AVG program. Did a system restore which eliminated AVG and had no problem loading the website onto facebook. Now to figure out what to do about virus protection....I really liked AVG too, but not if its going to
