Perhaps the kid simply meant he was hiding from being in "the show".

Does somebody have any additional information confirming that it was an intentional hoax?

I personally they encouraged kids to do stuff for the show (Wife Swap) and make the kids act worse than usual or something.

Maybe it was something that happened before on their episode and he just carried it on.

I heard. This is not conclusive to me. I have two six year olds, and often have a wrong impression of what they mean when they try to express themselves until straightening it out. Beware of assuming that little kids express things in context well.

The kid did not make clear exactly what the thing done for the show was. While I certainly understand this is presumed to be clear by ears tuned to listen to adults only.

Wolfie asked the kid why he didn’t answer his parents calls from the bedroom and he said “we did it for the show”. This combined with the Dad’s befuddled attempt at explaining it away in the follow-up interview, long pause while he looks at his wife, hoping she comes up with something good, and that they appeared on “wife swap”, and his invention of the Jetson’s hover car makes me feel they are Super Guilty (a rarely used technical law term).

I think you guys are reading that all wrong..the kids were on the roof taking pictures..he was using the word “SHOW” as a way of saying a camera was on him. Why can’t we ever give someone the benefit of the doubt. I’m so glad this kid is ok..did it wreck any of your lives today that for two hours you were thinking of someone else, praying the kid is ok, and then when he’s ok, it’s like you’re all pissed.
