As part of a voluntary program that ended on October 15, some 7,500 Americans with hidden offshore bank accounts ended the game of hide and seek with the IRS. They finally decided to tell the government where to find their assets. Some of these hidden accounts were pretty hard to lose track of --- one had more than $100 million in it.

I bet majority of them are Liberals
Let me see Congressman Rangel had 50 million in a Swiss account as did Tim Geithner and Chris Dodd!!!
Vince Foster use to visit the Clinton money there a few times before his death.
This is why we need to get rid of the income tax. It is none of the government’s business how and where we keep our money.
I wonder how many were related to Soros.
Don’t worry their working on the VAT. ugh.
taxpayers? dimocrats don't pay taxes unless they get caught so I'm assuming these are dimocRATS.
Well wait a minute. Let’s look at what the article says. “Hidden .. offshore bank accounts..” Well — do you own any stocks or mutual funds? Then you own “offshore” assets, even investing in the S&P 500. I keep my bank account hidden, or at least hope the bank does, know what I’m sayin’?
So what they are talking about is people not paying taxes, due the US, ? Well that’s something entirely different to my way of thinking. In theory, if you had a 100 million, is it not your right to invest and distribute your money whenever and wherever you like? After all, the US has attracted investment money for a long time. And if you live here, you have to convert your investments at some point anyway, or heirs.
Say, by jove, that’s a great idea! Splendid. Can we get rid of all the other taxes too?
Yes, I have read that. To ensure that people “get the message”, that’s a fact.
What? - 7500 Democrat power brokers have come clean?
Actually, the VAT would be more fair than income tax as most people would have to pay it, instead of just the upper income half of the citizens.
It would be a hidden tax and higher and higher prices it causes would be blamed on the private sector and not the politicians. A National Retail Sales Tax that is not embedded in the price of goods would be an alternative.
SPEAKING OF THE VAT, YOU SAID “It would be a hidden tax and higher and higher prices it causes would be blamed on the private sector and not the politicians. A National Retail Sales Tax that is not embedded in the price of goods would be an alternative.”
GOOD POINT. The sales tax would be a better alternative.
