Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?

One trillion? I thought it was eleventy gazillion.
I still dont believe it.
There is no constitutional power given to the executive or legislative branch authorizing such an action.
And as far as I know there was no provision in any contract for the TARP money giving the government such power.
It is about time that the people of this country started to push back on governments zeal to grab power at each and every turn of the economy.
I'm beginning to suspect, that much of the TARP money has been siphoned off into areas that will allow 0bama to consolidate his power. His aim is to become a dictator, and the Czars and TARP money are the foundation for this.
I’m wondering why somebody doesn’t sure the pants off one of the czars.
Excellent idea!

Looking back at what happened at the end of Bush's term, the move made by Bernanke and Paulson appears designed to forestall what happened int eh great depression and the Carter depression. By creating money to be held in the banks not released to the public, it was theorized that the nation could ride out a recession and the collapse of other currencies without depressing the U.S. economic resiliency.
It would have worked, IMHO, if the demcorat control of Congress and WH had not pushed the deficits to such astronomical levels, making it impossible to ever pay off the floating debt incurred by excessive borrowing.
Thinking the nation's voters would learn a valuable lesson, the Bush people failed to realize that the democrats intended to apply the Cloward-Piven strategy to crash the economy in such a way that certain institutions would be protected (unions, green schemes, and social justice thugs like ACORN, Center for American Progress) while the over-all system would be trashed to accomplish the instillation of a federal oligarchy we are now seeing from the WH through the marxist/fascists Obama has installed to change the nation fundamentally, as he said he would ... Obama/ACORN to shape his agenda even before inauguration.
Thanks Nellie.
I’m packing up and out the door in the morning for a Kentucky Outdoor Press Association meeting on Cave Run Lake.
Will be musky fishing there till Sunday.
Good news this week about Mom — her tumor is gone (radiation zapped it) and the petscan shows it hasn’t spread to other organs. They took the feeding tube out this week and she is fiesty and ready to enjoy her new lease on life.
This is an annual trip for me (I am VP) but this year it will be a special celebration. I want to thank all of you for your prayers through these trying past few months.
Still praying for you to find comfort Nellie, after losing your dear Mom recently.
I am so thankful for all my freeper friends, and know the many prayers helped. When I return from fishing I will go on the thread Grammy posted for prayers for Mom and update/thank every one of them.
Thank the Lord, our prayers were answered. :-)
That is outstanding good news!!!
Thanks for the PING...
That is good news about your Mom...
Thank you, Jesus, for healing girlangler’s wonderful Mom...
:)
God is faithful.
Happy Fishing, girlangler! (my husband loved fishing and those were some of the things he still got to do before he passed away. He had a friend who would pick him up and take him fishing for as long as he could.) I bet there’s a beautiful fishing hole in heaven, don’t you?
So glad your mother has done so well and is starting to enjoy life again. What a great story. God Bless Her and best wishes to all.
I will have to look up ‘musky fish’ as thats a new one on me. I am a seafood lover! I love catfish, fried shrimp and fried scallops. Thats what I order when when I go to a seafood place...LOL!
Have a happy trip!
